Crowd Parallax - ixfuru - 08-04-2015

Hey you guys.   This is a little parallax I put together for one of my projects.   I thought it would be cool to share it with you.

JUST CREDIT ENTERBRAIN--because they created the sprites in this parallax image.

Unless you created all those sprites from scratch we couldn't credit you for this crowd, especially if one can see there is Ralph from VX on it. Not criticizing you for looking for a way to contribute it's just something you should keep in mind.

RE: Crowd Parallax - ixfuru - 08-05-2015

Yes. You are right. What I meant was credit me for putting the parallax together. Not for the individual characters. I will change that in the post. I think it was pretty obvious that I hadn't created the individual characters, but maybe not clear enough.

RE: Crowd Parallax - kyonides - 08-05-2015

It's not about making it clear that you just put them together on a single file, it's about not saying something is yours when you know it's not the case. Since this file obviously includes sprites made by other people, just copy and paste them on a new image file isn't worth mentioning. It's more like a minor edit that an original piece of art. You only expect your nickname to be included in any project credits if you provided something really original or original enough to claim it as your own.

On the other hand I don't know if the crowd as it looks right now is a good idea, for example one may need more or less people showing up on the map but this image isn't good enough because you can see there are parts of the sprites being cut off, invisible and that might make it look odd. Perhaps it would be better to erase some of the sprites at the borders too make it look cleaner and easy to implement on any map. I know, it's just my opinion but I really think it could benefit from my idea.

It's a parallax! It's not just to slap up there! And it did take effort to align and create this parallax from RTP sprites.

Just credit Enterbrain people. I did nothing and deserve nothing. Happy now? If not, move along. Or get it locked or removed or something. I don't mind.

RE: Crowd Parallax - MetalRenard - 08-05-2015

Kyonides, if you'd stopped at the first post it would have been fine but this is -almost- backseat moderation now. You made your point clear and the OP made it clear they weren't trying to claim Enterbrain's work as their own, simply stating that they'd made the parallax. Sure "made" can be construed as "made the sprites" and should have been made clearer, however once the correction was made it should have been left there.

Mr Dark Rabbit, it's easier if you just put "credit: me and Enterbrain". Derivative works using Enterbrain's sprites are allowed as far as I know, so long as anyone who uses them owns a license for all the products the sprites come from. Therefore you can claim credit for putting them together.

Not to mention very meticulously created as a seamless graphic just the idea of pulling each idle frame and adding it layering downward takes some work. Great job... It inspired me - creating a backdrop of arena walls, with stands and working crowds maybe a centerpiece with so.e royals... Liking where that can go.

RE: Crowd Parallax - ixfuru - 08-05-2015

Thanks, JayRay. It took some time to do it. But it works pretty well. I only used it in one scene, where a speaker steps out onto the balcony to face a large crowd. This was actually my third effort in making it. I tried to space out the characters so that the same ones wouldn't be close together, but in some areas, they are closer than others. It's basically all the normal-looking RTP people. That bad thing about the image is that it must be pretty much cut off by the edge of the scene, as placing it in a smaller room with walls does indeed make it look like there are half-people standing there.

I have learned my lesson here, MetalRenard. I should have thought of how it would look by saying to credit me. I apologize for that. I in no way was trying to take credit for the 'artwork', just the parallax and the fusion of the characters together. I'm new around here and definitely don't wanna come across as taking credit for something that isn't mine. I just want to share some of the stuff I've done with RM and marvel at the work of others.
