[Graphic Tools] Basic 2D Character Kit
#1
This is a 2D sprite generator that makes good generated sprites, great for lazy spriters.

Features:
  • Comes with a built-in editor
  • You can generate sprites by selecting different buttons and pressing "Build"
  • Comes with Head, Hair, Helmet/Hat, Shields, Body, Face, Arms, Legs and Shoe sprites.
  • You can also edit parts for the generator using the editor. (Right Click a part)
  • It has a shading tool for interesting shading (Splat)
  • Export images in a sprite sheet.
  • When you select a colour it makes a shading/highlight palette for it automatically.
  • A randomizer for new ideas.
This program was not made by me, it was originally on xpounded.com, which is now closed down.

File is only small, 2MB but very rare so mirrors are appreciated.

As for the generator itself...I am kinda lost on how to use it ^^'

It's quite simple, select all the parts using the radio buttons, and then click build. The sprite should show up and you can edit it to your taste. You can also randomize your sprite by pressing "random".

To export, press the arrow button next to results and save the image by going under "File".

Hope that explains it. ^^

...why?
Sorry if this sounds stupid, but why are they called that? XD
Who's supposed to guess that? They have nothing to do with the word 'radio' XD I just went and checked two online dictionarys and a book version to find out if that word has a second meeing that I'm unaware of, but aparently it does not. Makes no sense XD
These things are more like...I don't know...choice boxes or something.
Thanks for explaining tough ^^

@Yamina: Radio buttons are called that way cuz in the old days car radio's had that kind of buttons to select the channel frequency.
@Olivia: can you also upload images into it? (Just asking, staying with photoshop anyway :p)

The installer fails when I try to run it on Windows 7 64-bit. I also got a warning from ZoneAlarm saying it was malicious code. Has anyone else installed this successfully on Win7x64? And can anyone confirm that they've used this program for a year and not had a virus/malware infection?
