While KDC has issues with his PC's C: drive, KDC came back again. This fostered cheers came forward from Bounty Hunter Lani and DerVVulfman who suggested that he gets a USB hard drive for a backup. However, this was short-lived as KDC said just a coupld eays later that he would be going away again, and this time quite literally. There is some packing to take care of, but once he gets settled, he hopes to get back online. Though packing away his main system, he still has the ability to kill some time with his spare PC and an old Windows phone.
This week, zstern22 came in and said 'Hi' to everyone as he's workking on an RPGMaker game right now. Both the forum's werewolf and fox gave welcoming barks back.

Games Development
Development Discussion
When a person plays a JRPG, how much of his or her talent goes into the game. That is the topic which unwashedmendicant brought up in his discussion about skill in RPGs. With action games, it takes the player quick reflexes to proceed. And classic Dungeons and Dragons pen-and-paper games are very much freeform and with few gaming barriers past those of the GM. But many computer RPGs may resemble grind-fests. Instead of the oft excuse of killing weak enemies to increase a character's level, and thus their skill, unwashedmendicant invited others to discuss means to alter the mechanics in order to avoid the general grinding that may ensue. Still, some like Steel Beast 6Beets are powergamers who don't mind grinding so they can piledrive through the toughest enemies. And MetalRenard felt some grinding may be acceptible, but suggests blatant XP grinding should be avoided and noted that some RPGs on the market already found a means to advance the character's skill as they play. Meanwhile, DerVVulfman noted that the skill in most RPGs is based solely on the 'predefined' characters played. The only apparent instance of this being an ABS system such as Zelda which still relied on the player's good timing and aim. After that, unwashedmendicant suggested some entertaining encounters that can liven up a game and break the traditional monotony of random battles. After that, DerVVulfman posted a few tasks within a pair of Elder Scrolls games that relied on the player's own wits to complete. And insofar as entertaining quests, Steel Beast 6Beets alluded to a quest from the original NieR involving a runaway son which heralded an unexpected pratfall moment for the player.
Upcoming Projects
As KDC is having some issues at the moment, he decided to begin sketching out weapon concepts for his game, Memorie.
Discussions of audio within TsunamiJurai's game, The Untold Story: Fighting for a New World, continued this week. First, with her reply to BountyHunterLani that most of the audio effects themselves were merely RPGMaker XP effects. But it then went towards game mechanics and how to begin gameplay so the player isn't barraiged by a wall of text. MetalRenard thought she had great ideas, and BeJeremiah had enjoyed the demo so far and gave her some constructive feedback.

Code Support
After DerVVulfman solved the issue of getting rid of the crazy picture movement during transitions in Moghunter Menus, Zacharaid thanked him and replied that the request thread can now be closed.
Well, that's it for this week.
