You know, the palm trees look kinda like the base tile is kind of squished into the ground, but other than that, fantastic! I'd say that the original design for the water was better.

I was gonna re-do the trunk but just started anew. I've got a whole sheet of palm tree silhouettes I just started, going to be doing a variety of different trunk and leaves with different textures. Here is one I did a quick and dirty texture/shading job to, with the character next to it just for size comparison.

Alright, made some drastic improvements on my palm tree(s). Originally, I tried to redo the leaves from scratch but was having a hard time, so I did some copypasta magic and some layered recolor/shading stuff and tada!

The techniques I used to make this tree was the same applied in my cactus tutorial.

Shouldn't the inner leaves be a little bit more dark?

Very nice palmtrees! :) I like the idea of putting them to groups together. Makes it easer for creating oasis for example. :)

I´m working on some tilesets for the excellent HMode7 script by MGC . I have some screens for you to see the development.

The tree looks...odd. But the rest is actually really nice. I especially like the red roof. =D
Also, for some reason this reminds me at a game I used to play with my sister. I can't remember the name tough and she can not as well, aparently ^^' It was included on a Demo CD for the PSX but it was a full version of that game.

Tail Concerto? Yeah, I tend to think of that game too when I see town maps in a mode 7 setting. I usually don't play cute, oddball games such as those, but man am I ever glad I got to experience it, it was an underrated gem!

Inner leaves? I've fixed those but lost the edits, I'll redo it when I have time again.
