First, I always suggest mapping out everything you do before applying it to tile, and with such, a few days ago I proposed a change in the vast scale of the world of Kharis. With that being said, I decided that I really needed to know how many maps I had to work with... inasuch, I sketched out the various landforms of Kharis, for the Roguehaven Game..

as of now I'm looking at each square being a specific 500x500 map, but if that becomes too much of a daunting task, I may make each four squares represented inside one 500x500 map with each square represented by 250x250 tiles.
This is indispensible knowledge for mapping and climates: http://web.archive.org/web/2012102618555...html#basic
actually, yes, yes it is, wow, THANKS Ahzoh!

I think I'll stick with larger maps, and just make it work... 148 world maps for 500x500 each, linked together for the stitching

As this is really a game development concept, more specifically a concept topic for the Roguehaven game's mapping system, this thread was moved into Development Discussion. it's kinda like your own private 'Maps' thread.
ah, okay, cool... and even at 148 maps, I still got a LOT of room to add stuff! Free Roaming maps! Woohoo!
