very excited to see what DerVVulfman is planning for this project!

hope theres a demo soon!
Could take a while....

I had some other duties which prevented me from working for a while, but I'm back.  And as I suggested, an editor is going to be needed and is in the works right now.

Well, it was in the works for better part of three hours today.  More side-tracking, but forum related work stuff.   Still, the editor in its infant stages has two windows that are active.

The left-most window displays the project's BMP folder and lists all the music files within.  However, it only shows a list of the music IN the project, and not part of the RTP.  As the project loads, it also checks to see if any of the music files has a matching .rxdata DDR file in the Data folder.  If your project has any music that has a matching DDR file, that music file is highlighted... boldfaced... whatever.  [i]I just changed colors for now.[i]

You can scroll through all the music in the list, and if you hit [Enter], you either 1) access that file's DDR file with all the key strokes or 2) Create a DDR file for a piece of music that doesn't have one.

Insofar as the right-most window, it renders the keystrokes saved within the DDR file,  Well, to be specific, it holds the TimeStamp of a DDR keystroke and the keystroke itself.  While I can scroll through the window, there is no editing as yet.  I still have to include another window that controls two other values related to timing and speed entries.  But this window will be a main focus area.

Planned for this window will be where one can add a new timestamp.key combination, edit an existing one and  delete one that already exists.

But the entertaining portion will be the playback/record feature.  Intended, I wish to be able to play the music to show the keystrokes light up in time with the music (a good way to make sure the timing works of course), and allow the end user (that'd be you, Sil) to press your keys as the music plays for a quick way to add new keystrokes.  Manual editing in the editor may be accurate, but it is tedious.

That's the PLAN anyway.

I know... it doesn't look like much. But here's what I have so far.

Left side READS your music files in the Audio\BGM folder. You can't tell, but they change color depending on whether they have a DDR file or not. The right is the loaded file. You have speed and arrow framerate controls, and a scrolling list of the button presses. The numbers represent the timestamps for the keys while the letter represents the directional button. And below that will be the instructions per option.

It saves and loads a text file just fine. But editing, inserting and deleting the DDR timestamp/button combos isn't in there yet. That's one part that scares me. Not sure how the playback/recording option I want will work out.

probably not Sarcasm + Confused

I'm linking this to lunarberry RN she's gonna be SO HYPED! Grinning
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

Yeaaaahhh... When trying to do some work with having the DDR system and the DDR editor to work together, I forgot I hardwired some of the DDR code. I also forgot that I made it so the player doesn't move. When you dance, you're making an event move its legs around lest the player itself would bounce around the edges of the map. Yeeeeesh.
