Frailty of Eden
The Tragedy of Adam
( Formerly Hearts Forbidden TCG)
Welcome to my Game Post. I had not originally planned to release any game information until I had a Demo, but after watching Bounty Hunter Lani's video and seeing many other projects posted I figured why not.
I proposed the Idea of a Card Based battle system a long time back. I then played the game Lost Kingdoms II and thought "That cant be too hard to replicate"…well it is. However, I figure it’s a challenge worth attempting. Having no story at the time I felt it too soon to post. However, with a book idea in hand I have decided to return to work on this. Because of the large number of cards needed to make it playable; Information here is in early stages.
As of 5/28. I have entirely revamped the intended card battle system. Dubbed as Project Card Fight, it has many features akin to BuddyFight! and Vanguard.
About
Genre: Card Battle Action RPG
Engine: RMXP Project
Play Style: One Player, Linear - Select One path of Several
Setting
Because my favorite tile-set is the ocean set I have placed The setting in a area similar in form to the Country located on the Horn of Africa called Somalia. There is no other similarity or reference at this time. The setting is a mix of ocean and beach land in climate to express what to expect in maps. Lots of rain, lots of water, lots of animals, but far reaching country with very few people to see or interact with.
As of 6/2. There are not two distinct play areas. The world of the Player and the world the player "observes". The world of the player is the room he/she is trapped in searching for ways to escape. There is a mysterious air of gloom to the room. Something happened here, but "what" is the question and "why" as we soon learn it was not long ago.
Features
Card based action Role-Playing Game fought in real time. The best reference for this is Lost Kingdoms I & II. Go here to see what the reference game is like.
As of 5/28. Check out Google for BuddyFight! and CardFight Vanguard Reference material.
Story
As of 6/2. You are the protagonist.
Your family decided to venture on a leisurely trip to Florida this year. Everyone else, decides to fly. Due to health issues, you decide to drive. However, you didn't check the weather forecast and are now stranded in the middle of nowhere in a down pour. Your car breaks down and you are forced to go door to door in the rain searching for a safe place to rest up until morning. After walking several blocks, knocking on many doors to no avail, you reach a house with all the lights on and the door strangely unlocked. Your better judgement would say...don't do this, but your drenched clothes and tired feet thrust you forward into the unknown.
A group of strangers get thrown into a far away land on an unexpected vacation by their respective friends, family, and employers. Exploring this unfamiliar country the three main characters happen upon each other and strike up a friendship as they learn about this striking country on the western coast of one the most ancient pieces of land.
In this land separated by war and traditions steeped in conflict and violence; men, women, and children still sit down together to eat, talk, and play. Passed among the children are cards that picture creatures both common and ancient. Weapons and Armor from the many cultures that have crossed the land. Heroes and Antagonist considered the souls of better times where bloody were the ties that bind and war was just a game with a high price. Among the adults the cards have a deeper meaning. They represent the people taking their history both negative and positive and collecting it. Not in a book, but in a game. Before there was ever war everyone believed that there was love in games. Even the man that could not read, could see the pictures and teach a child a lesson about life and honor and that it is never lost even in death.
The men learn secrets about themselves that would shock anyone, but it is together through the card game played most by the locals that that they learn a secret that will bind them together. When set before them is a trial; there will be a baptism by Fire, a ritual in deep Woods, a moment's piece on Yellow sands, a doorway hidden in the clearest Blue seas, a blank White card for the story unwritten among many, a secret hidden in the Blackest Darkness, and an ominous intent that cares nothing of race, creed, money, location, or time.
A promise will be broken … blood will be shed … new ties in the colorless forever will be revealed. If there is truly love in games and a lesson in life; it is best to keep your heart in a locket with the lover you treasure most and your dreams in a tightly wrapped box with your hopes, where even gods cannot gift it away and Pandora can never open it.
Characters
As of 6/2. Characters have not entirely changed from previous. However, now YOU as the player are a male or female protagonist. Instead of playing as one of the 3 male protagonist you follow them and observe their story. They are all children now, so consider yourself their guardian angel as you explore their lives while you struggle to find a way out of the abandoned house.
Protagonist is YOU the player. Your underlying attributes are based on a bit of a back story but your choices along the way are totally up to you. Keep in mind you are directed by the exploits you chosen ward.
Your Wards...
Jeremiah. Shy young man, struggling with many fears and regrets. His only outlet is joining his friends to listen to the stories of the enigmatic Mortua. He tries his best to ignore Azrael. He is often with a pair of broken head phones on. No one knows if he actually hears something, or is trying to drown something out...like Azrael constantly calling him Jeffrey...
Azrael. Outspoken and somewhat childish, he likes to bother the quiet Jeremiah for kicks (Hey, he looks like a Jeffrey to me...heheh), but loves to explore the unknown with his friends.
Ramael. He is the oldest of the group. A mature young man who is methodical and careful natured, but go out of his way for his friends. He is easily annoyed by Azrael's antics.
Mortua. The ecclectic inhabitant of a cave along the coast. The three wards of our protagonist seek both her guidance and company to escape their everyday lives. The details of which are explored by the player. There is some relation between Mortua and the the stories she tells...are they all fiction, hmmm.
Jeremiah Black is an unassuming ordinary man trying to hold on to his youth and his sanity working a job that his likes but does not love, with people that he tolerates but does exactly like, and life in which he exist in but would not necessarily say he has lived. His "friends" call him strange, and his coworkers call him "Jeffrey". His one escape from the boring everyday life he leads is a trip he never wanted or expected. Will the secrets to be revealed to Mr. Black be a welcome experience or shake up the life of this man who "Looks like a Jeffrey"?
Elias Nyx is wealthy young entrepreneur who has only three loves in his life. Wealth-borne Freedom, High rises with a dream of flying and a heart condition that may make this impossible, and a love story in his heart with a collection of juliets so his story never gets boring. When Mr. Nyx life take a turn for the worse when the mother he cherishes more than any of his loves passes away suddenly. She leaves in her will two things. A watch from his father whom he never met and a letter speckled by tears written in a language he cannot read with the only clue to its meaning being the envelop with the return address being a country on a ocean beaten rock on the other side of world. Will there be more to the secrets revealed to Elias than that hidden in this mysterious letter.
Lastly there is Ra`Mael Sigh, whose reasons for visiting this country are not as noble as Elias' or as haphazard as Mr. Black. Ramael has no attachments to family and no financial or employment related engagements. Ramael and his strange name that seems all too similar to an alias is what you call a Political Refuge from a neighboring land. He escaped his home country under direst. However, with his motives hidden and his reason for "escaping" his homeland also well concealed he joins the other two with his only reason given being "I am seeking a safe and peaceful place to plant my feet and a few friends to have a little adventure along the way". With the disposition of an assassin but all the refinement of royalty he joins the group as the resident pretty boy to the Don Juan natured Elias dragging along the introverted dark child who sits in the shadow of Man named "Jeffrey".
Along the way, many others from their respective lives and this country's current and ancient past will take part in a dark fantasy with a little adventure, a little drama, a little comedy, a little love, and whole lot of cards.

Cards
The cards being revamped. However work about the same. You collect Weapon, Armours, Vessels (Items), Equips (same as items and Weapon but weaker non timed effects), Rites (Magic Rituals / Spells), and Event Cards. When in battle your deck include all non Event cards and can be used to attack, defend, evade, spread damage, reflects damage, counter, heal, buff, debuff, etc. Event cards are quest items. Collect something as simple as a drop of water or a flame will have its use for not only completing quest but also Crafting cards as well. Enemies are capturable to get Event Cards as well if not available as normal drops.
There are four groups of cards. Weapons and Armor, Souls and Vessels, Beast, and Rites. Along with card types there are elements. The elements include "Colorless", "Infernal Red", "Arboreal Green", "Adamant Yellow", "Aquarion Blue", "Neutral Black", and "Radiant White". Each type has specific advantages and the elements apart from their strengths over other elements have unique playstyles all their own. It will be possible to buy, sell, and collect cards throughout the game. Some enemies classified as beast or vessels will be capturable if the required conditions are met.
Gameplay
There are two forms of battle.
ABS uses card to buff, debuff, heal, etc.
Real Time battles that occur on the map against beings classified as beast and vessels in the world. Unlike the reference game(s). The player can attack enemies to deliver a rather weak attack with their weapon but without using cards their weapons do nearly nothing. Because there is no purchasable weapons, armor, or crafting all player stats are derived from card bonus given when used. The player gains experience when enemies are defeated and cards gain experience when used. Using weaker cards allow them to be upgraded or duplicated at the cost of experience point on the respective card.
The second battle type is done with cards only against NPC opponents using the Versus Engine. The Versus Engine will be further explained at a later time, but is currently on hold.
