Evented this system where character enters one square and comes out as another character. The point being only certain classes can utilise certain skills/spells. Once they have obtained the recipe for the skill/spell they have to carry out tasks to obtain it. Shoot arrows at a target, mix herbs, sword fight a dummy etc. All this is on a single map, although in a game it would obviously be spread out. Open chests as the correct character, obtain recipe from the spell/skill book and then find ingredients or test abilities to gain the skill/spell.
