If you had it for a very long time, might I suggest... a possible engine update? If your engine has some degridation from transferring from PC to PC (rare), this may be needed. And the current version is probably a bit more stable.
While Protexis (the original non-Japanese edition sellers) don't exist, Degica still does. However, Deigca may have lost your original sales documentation if you hadn't contacted them within the past three years.
For this, might I recommend purchasing a new copy of RPGMaker XP at steam... It's only ... ROFL... $2.50 (USD) ? That, I admit, is an amazing price. I will admit, you will be connecting to steam each time you start it up. But for $2.50? HAHA!
