it just occured to me that video games, and not conventional instruction, are what taught me how to use reason. when i played sonic the hedgehog for six hours a day, the spikes weren't spikes to me. they were representative of something i shouldnt jump on, or i'll die.
discuss maybe why not?

I have a video to show you about how games teach us. It's not exactly what you're post is about since it focuses more on the in-game rules rather than life, but it is an interesting video, and at the same time it's by Egoraptor so I think everyone should see it *fanboy*:

Mass Effect taught me that it's not gay if it's an alien. Now a lot of Republican astronauts want to extradite me.

Aaah! Yes. That video. That video is excellent. Just... yeah.
Teaching through gameplay. Would be nice if more games did that. And the other things. ... but loads of amateur game creators have already seen this, right? The AAA corporations need to see it.

FFXIII teaches us that some developers aren't looking for anything entertaining, like gameplay. They won't write well, program well or map well. Some developers just want to watch the fans burn.
