RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 01-13-2014 @Ahzoh : Not sure what you're seeing with the dinosaur's movement, but it'll look different once detailed. Open to suggestions. KasperKalamity : Old design, not sure why it was done that way. The animated battler version will be redone from scratch, will hopefully have a better head/limb arrangement. - Hey, let's open RMXP and get some work done! So... WTF?! The serial number has been written down in the back of a software manual which happens to be mixed in with some other important documents. It'll have to wait until tomorrow, turning on lights and rustling through papers is only going to wake people up. Frustrating! Oh well, let's work on some music then... The track is a brief loop of what Kain sounds like when he's pissed off. Would be nice to hear the different pitches in RMXP but, oh yeah, of course, the DRM decides to act up after 8 years :| RE: What's up, RMers? - Ahzoh - 01-13-2014 (01-13-2014, 09:56 AM)Kain_Nobel Wrote: @Ahzoh : Not sure what you're seeing with the dinosaur's movement, but it'll look different once detailed. Open to suggestions. ah good, it looked weird on my phone like it would walk normally for a few seconds then do some where spazzing where only one leg at a time moves forward, looks normal now. only thing to say is that it's legs are stiff-straight, like a human walking. should be joints moving the knees and the "heel" RE: What's up, RMers? - MetalRenard - 01-13-2014 Just finished some music for my friend's game, Castle Space Racing. You can download the game for PC/Android or play on the Unity Web-player ("Jouer Ici"). The game is in English. http://christophegalati.fr/html/projet.html#ancre12 It suffers from a few issues that my friend didn't have time to resolve such as all the audio being in mono. For that reason I've made the music available for download on Newgrounds right here: The "main" music played during the levels: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/563065 The "alternative" menu version http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/563247 Enjoy! :D And that's what I've been up to. RE: What's up, RMers? - KasperKalamity - 01-14-2014 @kain- chimeras just never looked right to me in general. are they two headed horizontally, like cerberus? i added blank maps for all my remaining mandatory areas. it's really motivating to give myself the freedom to work in different areas at the same time. i'm getting a lot done. by the time i'm done, i should have ~270 maps. RE: What's up, RMers? - JayRay - 01-15-2014 Yes, Olivia. Now I need to get you hooked up with the ultimate basic 3d modeling tool. I think it will be perfect for what you want to do. That model up top is about the same amount of polygons as a basic Iclone character, and with the right work, you can sprite, pixelate, and work with just about any model or design. RE: What's up, RMers? - MechanicalPen - 01-16-2014 (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ Magic! Number of colors is important in pixel arting. These are 12 colors and 10 colors, respectively. RE: What's up, RMers? - Ahzoh - 01-16-2014 you were able to turn drawing Ryu into pixels? I wonder if you can do the same to this: RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 01-16-2014 You mean like this? AhzohScaled.png (Size: 16.52 KB / Downloads: 6) Wow. The preview of the attachment is nearly actual size. RE: What's up, RMers? - MechanicalPen - 01-16-2014 My process does not work too well with grey-on-grey. If you play with the levels in photoshop you might get something workable. RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 01-17-2014 Working on new character, see avatar. Still rough draft, loosely based on the lovely lady referenced below. Still pending refinement with shading, as well as color palette adjustments (too much yellow tone), but it's as good as it's going to get tonight. Rule of thumb for the project is all protagonists' portraits are supposed to be facing slightly front-left, looking towards the viewer, so much artistic liberties were taken to achieve the correct perspective. (My lovely ginger Lindsey breaks this rule because she's just boss like that ;D) Open to suggestions on this woman's name. Avoid anything that ends with a Y/I sound as all the leading ladies in my project have unintentionally followed that trend (Krysti, Lindsey, Mysti, etc.) Also, no disrespect towards the presidential first lady, but the name Michelle is out of the question too. Other names are welcome and appreciated, you'll be credited in the special thanks section if you come up with the chosen name. - In other news, will probably be dropping (or postponing) a future Belly of the Beast release, need to free up some commitments so more focus can be put towards ReGaL and Echoside. Nothing against the infamous volcano dungeon project, the next chapter is pretty close to done, but it remains a low priority for now. |
