RE: What's up, RMers? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 08-25-2016 Speaking of which, please refresh my memory but can map size alone cause slowdown/frame rate issues or only in conjunction with events? RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 08-25-2016 I ran a 500x500 map with no problem. Now if you're having 1000 events.... better have a decent Anti-Lag script with ya. Now if you're having 1000 events.... better have a decent Anti-Lag script with ya. Figures. I do have a pretty nice Anti-Lag script and the difference in performance is truly remarkable. RE: What's up, RMers? - Bounty Hunter Lani - 08-25-2016 Anti-Lag scripts... I'll definitely need one of those. Some of my maps, especially World Maps, will have quite a lot of events, and I keep forgetting to get an Anti-Lag script Suggestions for one I should use? (Other than the amazing one on ReGaL, Dervy-kun. Unless you're gonna give that to me, don't mention it ) RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 08-25-2016 We... didn't really need an anti-lag script into ReGaL. We just made the script system so badass, we ran 999 events in there with no problem. RE: What's up, RMers? - Bounty Hunter Lani - 08-25-2016 Well darn, ReGaL sounds more amazing every day RE: What's up, RMers? - Taylor - 08-26-2016 Speaking of Regal I had a thought the other day about a feature for it: custom skill costs. Instead of being restricted to MP/TP, you should be able to specify elements similar to how VXAce does traits. Each possible trait would be a value (HP, MP, TP, or something custom), and a value, which would be preset, or perhaps a percentage or formula. I've toyed before with things like HP-costing skills, but what I later realised is sometimes you might want a skill that costs HP and MP. :v RE: What's up, RMers? - Bounty Hunter Lani - 08-26-2016 That reminds me, are Multi-Hit skills in ReGaL my default? Animated battlers in XP going back to re-cast the skill is kinda weird... Anyway, I've found the Slice tool using % is useful for editing animated battlers in Photoshop. When there are 4 boxes, you can use 25% for it, and put things into place if necessary. Also, I edited Karula's battler sprite, because he was standing like a statue, and he was TINYYYYYYY. I increased his size by 20%, increased Sharpness and Saturation to offset the loss of detail, and animated his body. Then, I animated his sword-hand, so he no longer stands still. Now I just need to center Karula's battler a bit more, since for some reason, it's in the lower portion of the boxes (The original was like that as well) Here's a GIF that shows Karula's battler in action: Still needs more work with the arm motion, though. Working on this stuff alone takes so much time RE: What's up, RMers? - Ahzoh - 08-26-2016 I noticed that the blonde girl's (Tina's?) head to body ratio is different than Kurula's and the white-haired girl's. As well as the eye to head ratio. ______________________________________________ A neat editing tool would be one that provided shading to an image based upon where a theoretical light was shining upon it. RE: What's up, RMers? - Bounty Hunter Lani - 08-26-2016 You're right, they're quite a bit off. I need to make Tina a bit smaller, her eyes are HUGE, and she still needs other edits as well. I was supposed to have someone working on animated battler edits, but they put it off indefinitely, so I may eventually need to do it myself I'm not the one who made the original animated battlers, but I am trying to get the edits done so they can be more original. The originals were done by Dollmage, and the Karula battler's original name is Kratos, of Tales of Symphonia, and his battler was NOT done by Dollmage, but apparently ripped and put together by zulwarn on HBGames. The Kratos battler was PUNY compared to everyone else (As are pretty much all of the Tales battlers on the site) Everything is still a work in progress, but we're gettin' there |
