RE: What's on your mind? - Kain Nobel - 07-19-2012 I have to work today... First I couldn't sleep because I kept thinking of how much I want to work on my project and how much I could accomplish if I never had to sleep... Now I can't sleep because the damn A/C stopped working... ...so maybe today I'll stay up and just work on my project... maybe. RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 07-20-2012 Work had a problem with our internet servers. Looks like my job's hosting service (fortunately not OURS) has been under attack by hackers wishing to use install backdoors so they can sell off free service at the hosts and our expense. This time, we caught it and logged the hack attempt (a failed one) last night. A safeguard shut it down so it could be remedied. Woulda been great if they told us about the failsafe or the attempted hacks. RE: What's on your mind? - Kain Nobel - 07-20-2012 My niece keeps finding and giving me change, I've counted a $4.28 profit from all the coinage laying about my house! Speaking of which, my 'secret' savings is no longer secret, everybody has been chipping in. I'm thankful but it doesn't feel like my secret savings anymore, my niece is already bugging me to buy her a present lol. I played a practical joke on the kiddos tonight; we're running low on food because we need to go grocery shopping, so I was scrambling to make an improvised meal. Everybody was upset that they weren't getting the same thing, but I tried my best to make something they each like. After spending about a half hour gathering and prepping everything I needed, I went to the table and they all sat down excited for whatever I had made them. I laid out Repunzel napkins on the table and was like "There ya go!" My niece looked at me and was like "...so um, wheres the food DUDE?!" and I was like "its right there, eat it! It probably tastes just like birthday cake." The younger niece kicked off the domino effect and suddenly everybody was on the verge of crying. I guess I should stick to my serious uncle role because frankly I must suck at making jokes or something :/ RE: What's on your mind? - yamina-chan - 07-20-2012 The last few days have been busy. And when I had some free time I tried to get my video editing software to work the way I wanted it to. Which lead to the fact that I've been shouting at my monitor a lot, even tough it's not it's fault that nothing seems to work. Neither of my two programms seems to do what it is supposed to on this PC, the third one I can't even install. But I'm gettin there...or at least I hope I do. -How can something that used to be so easy turn into frustration? That's not how it's supposed to be ^^' RE: What's on your mind? - Samven - 07-20-2012 I can't decide what's more awesome. Turtles or pandas. RE: What's on your mind? - Kain Nobel - 07-22-2012 Ninja Turtles > Kung-Fu Panda It's amazing how much time a human being spends dealing with mundane institutions such as school, work, college, jail, prison, the DMV, etc. I've been a city dweller all my life, but sometimes I get so sick of seeing technology, man-made structures, pre-packaged food (which is probably just a synthetic science experiment substance), smart phones and... the list goes on. In other words, I think modern society is driving me insane, I need to get the hell out of here and find wilderness or something... ...But I'm still probably going to bring some of my modern-age bullcrap with me, namely some of that pre-packaged store bought food stuff I hate so much, along with bottles of water because lord knows I need to bring some trash with me lol. Oh, and the dreaded automobile, leaving a blazing trail of invisible pollution behind me because I can't be bothered to walk some eighty miles to my nearest patch of... whatever nature is. I think this is why I can't concentrate well at work or on my game project lately, I'm drowning in the modern world and need to escape for a minute! If nobody sees me for a week, I'll probably be feuding and trying to make up and bond with my long lost mother nature, just hope she lets me come back alive lol. RE: What's on your mind? - Samven - 07-22-2012 I can't believe how much I'm digging The Last Story. I have quite a bit of hatred of the FF series (don't ask - we'll be here all day) but this is so... so fresh. So crisp! I can't believe it's by the same writer! There's just so much that's good about it. There's no angst, the dialogue is surprisingly mature for a JRPG (two hours in and the hero gets accused of trying to get the leading lady, and I quote, "in the sack"... what wonderful audacity), the story is mega-political (as in - there are no ancient BS environmental space octopi to be seen here 8D), the combat system is really, really awesome and the tall, dark, annoying, brooding douchebag archetype is instead a chillaxed 'n' cheery Scottish flirt who flings ice magic around as much as he does friendly banter and somehow manages to make A SLEEVELESS LILAC TANK-TOP look like the manliest thing ever... Wow. I want Syrenne and Lowell for my dream RPG team. RE: What's on your mind? - KasperKalamity - 07-23-2012 mock RE: What's on your mind? - xnadvance - 07-23-2012 too much going on with my project its a big mess :s RE: What's on your mind? - Samven - 07-23-2012 I am starting to get the impression that I talk too much. |
