RE: What's on your mind? - MetalRenard - 07-25-2012 Added this little note to my site. I'm fed up with all these templates people buy. No originality. (Thanks again to yamina-chan for the epic design) "Dear visitor, you may have expected one of those sleek sites that so many seem to be using these days, but I decided not to use one of those templates. What are you looking for when you hire someone? You want them to add value and character to your project, correct? Let my site be a statement about my personality and consider the benefits some originality would add to your project. This site represents me and I make music that has a meaning. I hope you can see the benefit in my approach and that you enjoy listening to my music. Thanks for reading this little note!" RE: What's on your mind? - Kain Nobel - 07-27-2012 For a while now I've been fighting the developer mindset while playing games, but he is a persistent personality that usually turns my games off and pulls me back to the computer for work. I've experienced this issue again recently while trying to play Samven's Deceit x Justice, and I would like to apologize publicly to him and anybody who has ever sent me a demo or completed game that I just seemed to ignore or forget about. It is not something that I do on purpose, and I do plan on playing DxJ and a couple other games within the next few days, I'm just stuck in the mindset to finish mine. My girlfriend has been in the hospital for the past five days, swollen liver and a bunch of "we don't know yet" stuff, but at the very least she doesn't have cancer! I've tried to keep the house spotless each day, waiting for them to let her come home, but today I'm just "meh." At the very least, she seems to be in high spirits but I don't know what this all leads to yet so... Nothing can be done but to just keep working and living life as normal, so that is what I've been doing, and the kids seem to be helping a little more, so that's good! RE: What's on your mind? - JayRay - 07-28-2012 When the world gives us our greatest trials, its in those moments that we truly learn to adapt and overcome, with whatever spiritual faith, balance, or in some case... temperance. My wife has had heart problems all her life, always have to walk on egg shells with her, and never know if her over activity will send her into chest pains. When it comes down to it, it was actually her that said to not worry of what may be, but what CAN be. With her help, we've seen such blessings erupt in our lives from being practically penniless to having a wonderful marriage, not one but TWO vehicles GIVEN to us, being able to start our own home business, and working on these games as a hobby while she enjoys her new laptop, and her love of fishing. When I look back at the whirlwind of the last few months I thank God for blessing me with a helpmate, a love like my wife, and we take each day as it is... a blessing, nothing promised, only enjoyed as the gift it is. If there is ANYTHING that I as a graphic artist can do to help you with your game project, please, don't hesitate to PM me about it. RE: What's on your mind? - Ace - 07-28-2012 Damn! After Bios Downgrade my mainboard broke... FUUU! RE: What's on your mind? - Kain Nobel - 07-29-2012 Some good news and some bad news... The Good... The Bad... Thank you for sharing your experiences and being there for me DaVoice, I am here for you too if you ever need some help or somebody to talk to <3 Alright, I'm going to try and get a couple hours of development time in while I'm waiting on laundry, then its off to bed! The health of a lady is far, far more important than some amateur gaming projects. You're a good man to be standing by her in this time of need. I'm glad to hear it was caught early but I offer my condolences nonetheless for the fact that it happened to begin with. It's never nice to see someone you love suffering but I'm glad for you that she seems to be doing a little better. RE: What's on your mind? - Kain Nobel - 07-30-2012 Thank you guys for your support! She finally got to come home today, but I can tell things aren't exactly sunshine and rainbows. I'm trying to turn my thoughts positive, I did draft a Take Care of Yourself thread just to pass time (its not finished/posted), but I'm just fidgeting around and letting myself wander. I don't really have the motivation to do anything and I'm wanting to lay down, but its just going to heat her body up and make her uncomfortable, so hopefully I can do something idk. Yay, pictures of puppies! The time has come, I'm off to play DxJ! :D RE: What's on your mind? - KasperKalamity - 07-30-2012 i woke up this morning feeling like p. diddy. so i checked under my bed for zombie biggie smalls, and had some crunchberries. RE: What's on your mind? - JayRay - 07-30-2012 I just got home from taking wife to work, and realized how special she is to me... I'm so blessed to have her in my life. RE: What's on your mind? - Samven - 07-31-2012 @ JayRay: You know that thing people do where their brains melt down into mush and all they can do is go "AWWWWWWW"? 8333 I just did that. : 3 |
