RE: What's up, RMers? - kyonides - 06-16-2021 Look for the [some value or array, value].min script calls that are related to stats. Once you alter them all, no single stat bonus will be negated anymore because that's what makes it go back to 999 or 9999 points. RE: What's up, RMers? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 06-17-2021 I did a check out and apparently I forgot to change some parameters in some of the default scripts. That seemed to do the trick. RE: What's up, RMers? - Mel - 08-07-2021 I just found the SMILE GAME BUILDER on steam and downloaded the demo. It's more or less a 3D RPG Maker. It looks horrible. Another proof of beautiful 2D being superior to bad 3D. Now I'm even more happy about my RPG Maker XP. It does have some cool monster and character graphics in it's RTP though. RE: What's up, RMers? - kyonides - 08-13-2021 I've been working on a new script called KFindings XP as of late. By the way, it does feature a module that would let you customize headings at will. Err, nope, you cannot preset cities or findings (cases). You can only add new ones via script calls. Got any suggestions, guys? RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 08-13-2021 (08-13-2021, 10:14 AM)kyonides Wrote: I've been working on a new script called KFindings XP as of late. That's entertaining... this is a sort of log of items you found, and where they were discovered. I assume some flavor text regarding the found item will be shown in the third window? Sounds like this could be useful if someone wanted to actually make a crime/mystery game. Insofar as the third window... assuming I am correct... I would have it not be one set of text for the item, but a 'list' of texts based on circumstance. That is, the first time you find an item, it could be pretty bland. If you encounter someone who threw it away (an event), the description could change based on that circumstance to the 2nd in the list... Oh, and if you have outside datafiles, try making it so you can encrypt them into .rxdata format in the Data folder. It's not hard. And that way, the files can be packed away in the .rgsaad file with everything else. RE: What's up, RMers? - kyonides - 08-13-2021 I dunno if the following revelation will disappoint you, but Aluxes now thinks he's a detective. The third window might show information pertaining some person or piece of evidence or even something about any specific location. The case might be opened, closed, become a cold case, be sealed or be classified as top secret! Err, nope, it doesn't allow the game developer to predefine cases in the script's module. You gotta make in game script calls to be able to create any cases or add case pages or files. By the way, it's now called KInquire XP... RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 08-21-2021 I'm neck deep right now trying to iron the wrinkles out of animated battle system code that I had to abruptly put on hold as there is turbulence in the air. I've fallen far behind in development because life is busy and now I'm trying to re-learn what I've already known but I also have to re-familiarize myself with basically EVERYTHING again. The other night was pretty bad (and also awesome). I had like six graphics in the works, three systems, a level consisting of 9 maps, 4 sound effects made from scratch to go with the system and graphics and a bunch of new music to add which I had recorded in the last year and some this year. So hell yes the project is still going strong, and I'm still a development powerhouse when I don't have a whole bunch of other shit going on in my life. But I'm constantly busy, life always has more important things for me to do. Always. Not to mention, I have a rock/metal album under construction. A whole nine tracks, roughly 36 minutes of music, are already done, eight which will appear in the game (they already are). I'm not sure how long the actual album will be, or if I'll ever put it out as an "album" in the traditional sense since it is actually music for my game, but I keep all options open. The front, back and spine cover art for a CD jewel case are already done, but I have not done anything as far as what the actual compact disc might have on it. Whatever, it's 2021, the only thing I'll probably ever need is just the cover art and various streaming accounts if I ever decide to publish, I doubt it would even be worth it to put it out as a CD anymore. The fun thing about recording music is every song is a new difficulty. Certainly I have a streamlined process of setting everything up, recording it, cutting, mixing, etc. Create the drumbeats, play the bass lines, play the guitar rhythm, improvise a lead, maybe do some keyboard, yes I play it all by hand with real instruments (except the drums). What makes each track unique is they're all focused on different music theory concepts or even the fact that I have to constantly force myself to travel outside the comfort zone and do something coordinated and concentrated. Usually it actually turns out to be good, enjoyable music. One of these days I'll have to post one of these tracks, I think people would enjoy it. The big thing going on right now is I just sold a house, changed states, opened a business in the middle of a coronavirus pandemic and will soon be homeschooling and remodeling too. The game project might be put on the back burner, again and again. Not that I want it this way, but the political and economic climate in the US indicates things *could* go south very quickly without warning because our country is being ran by a geriatric with some form of cognitive decline and everyone is running around scared with their masks on taking experimental injection treatments and nobody truly knows what long term effects may manifest down the road. Not to mention the politics, oh god the politics, I could just vomit all over my keyboard at the whole farce. Strange times. I miss ya'll, glad to see everybody still doing their thing! Don't ever stop doing the things you do. There's always alternatives to injections, like ingesting horse deworming medicine. https://www.thedailybeast.com/demon-sperm-doctors-new-bogus-cure-has-covid-truthers-eating-horse-paste Not sure if it gonna work and I imagine taking anything dosed for an animal that is nearly half a ton is not going to end well for a human. But again, I am not a doctor so perhaps my opinion on this subject doesn't matter that much. RE: What's up, RMers? - Remi-chan - 08-28-2021 Finished another scene remaster~ RE: What's up, RMers? - kyonides - 09-01-2021 Since I have finished working on KBareHands XP I have been wondering if I might need to craft something else. Thus I had come with the idea that I should make an exclusive menu for that script. So guys what do you think about the snapshots?
