RE: What's up, RMers? - Remi-chan - 07-12-2022 Milestone Reached: All Icon-oriented optional events are now finished. I don't have videos for each yet, time should correct that. For now though, here is the Finale of Esperia's trilogy. Plight of the G0Ds And also... I wanted to show off how well Xali was introduced as a villain. Here's a video from when she first appears until the buggers off! The Cosmos' Enemy RE: What's up, RMers? - kyonides - 07-22-2022 I dropped my last project because I lost all inspiration or I'd never recall what its basic plot actually was. Thus I came to an interesting conclusion: to make a game based on stuff I know very "well" instead of developing a Record of Lodoss War or Final Fantasy like adventure. The game will be entitled "The Manchurian Candidate." I mean, "The Tricksy Candidate" he, he. Don't even imagine for a moment that it has anything to do with some TRICKSTER guy at all. What is it all about? Let me see...
The only thing left I can confirm right now is that Alex and our resident Bounty Hunter Lani will be starring the crime drama here. Wulfo could become a guest star as well at some point. RE: What's up, RMers? - Remi-chan - 08-07-2022 Daystar's Wrath A monumental battle with the Embodiment of Power. The fight is now fully complete, with Siletrea's voice acting serving as a great force of intimidation. RE: What's up, RMers? - kyonides - 08-15-2022 I've been busy drawing a brand new 64x64 turned off screen icon for my game project The Tricksy Candidate. I gotta say it's a terribly slow process indeed. Please feel free to take a look at my icon. screen off.png (Size: 867 bytes / Downloads: 3) These icons will replace the traditional menu window you can always find in a new project. I know Melana love such menus but I felt the need to make my game look a bit different. Now I'm facing a totally different problem... I can't come up with new ideas for the rest of the icons my game badly needs. Got any ideas, guys? RE: What's up, RMers? - Remi-chan - 08-21-2022 I actually have been planning on a menu overhaul for a good while, mostly waiting until a willing coder comes along to write me a plugin for cash Meanthewhile, I work on the game! Finished off the Kloe optional events... The Third of the Grand Archdemons Which ties eloquently into the Zen Nekoma questline on this side. There'll be a bunch of alternate quests centered around Esperia, Fyori and the several Nekomata they are servicing, all of which is talked of somewhat in the finale Pep event. For now though, here's the first part of the Kloe and Nanianne-focused adventure that is a direct continuation of Kloe's finale. Being Watched by a Fowlhunter Also recently got what remains of the Xaramitsi from Pjcr, be waiting for Xeltara next. Over to you, friendos~! RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 08-27-2022 I'm in a top secret resource making cold war with Project Echo; I've made 20 trees and 8 new faces since I last was on here, plus 3 animated battlers, a bunch of stupid rocks and unique attack animations for some of the battlers. I batch things out so I can get a good chunk of work done in a short amount of time plus I usually develop a pretty smooth workflow. Even battlers have been getting done in chunks; as such, I've got 3 styles of Dragon each with different legs, necks, heads, arms, bodies and tails but the same body part 'template' (yet I won't get to the wings until a later development cycle.) I'm in the process of creating a rock / metal album! (It wasn't my original intention, but I'm starting to have a lot of material.) The thing is, I've played guitar for years and always sucked (I'm getting good.) Yet, I've always had good riffs, great rhythmic pieces, a couple good leads, etc. Then I started playing bass guitar and the world started to change for me. Now I don't think I'm so lame. Actually starting to enjoy the music made thus far. A couple tracks are damn near perfect, and catchy too! When played in a residential area at high volume, I would expect one of the tracks to cause some spontaneous twerking LOL So far I've completely wrote 9 tracks with guitar, bass and drums completely laid out (and I can play 90% of it (the other 10% is an uncomfortable challenge I don't know if I could actually pull off but I'm willing damnit!)) So far I've performed and recorded 4 of the 9 tracks written. The guitar and bass are played by hand, the drums are programmed. (I've recorded more too, but I've yet to write them down, HA!) Not counting those 4, all of Project BEAST's tracks have been redone with real instruments too! This means I'll have enough material for a fully fledged album sooner than later :D I was intending this album to be more battle / boss music oriented, but thus far it only has a few fight themes.
As you see, the album was already in process and I'm fairly far along with it already. Any track that is Recorded (Draft) is a track that is mature and nearly finalized, but it's usually pending some kind of minor change. As such, "Hellrazer (Boss)" has all drum, bass and rhythm guitar parts completely recorded and finished, but I love/hate the electric guitar solo and am going to note-by-note compose a much better one, only taking parts I like from the old one (such as the closer). This song was never formally written, but now I've transcribed everything but the solo and that's the only part I'll need to replace for that track to be done (but I've also wrote new, better parts so...) Tracks that don't have "Written" next to them are a tip top priority, because I need to write everything I play lest I forget it. Plus, who knows, maybe a live band might play this one day? Ha! If I calculated correctly, roughly 42 minutes and 25 seconds of music is either written, recorded or both. This thing even has a cover image and everything, so that will be fun. The two secret cover tracks might be omitted, but they are interesting nonetheless. I'll probably upload one of them for Halloween :D EDIT : Some of the details are a little fuzzy. I'm finding manuscripts of multiple tracks written in different song files. I'm still buzzing off the last three tracks I've done, they make all the other tracks sound like shit in comparison. I funkin' leveled up and these are super clean and funktastic! I feel like I just invented my own genre :o PS : Some light Project REGAL work will be briefly visited in November, but it will be interlaced with the rock album work. Nothing serious happening in November other than cleaning up some code, wrapping up some loose ends, ie miscellaneous busywork. Also, probably drafting stuff. I'm hardly touching anything in December, I'll probably be doing overtime with business and collecting those $$$ until the year is over and the customers are all spent out. January will be more Project Echo resources and rock album work. February will be back to REGAL. No solid plans for anything past February 2023, but I do have a couple development cycle slots penciled in. It might sound like a lot of work but it all overlaps each other as far as Venn diagrams go. In other words, they share common elements and resources between each other, even if they're all independent projects on their own. Project ECHO : A future project being designed on the REGAL system. Project BEAST : A legacy RMXP project hybridized with minimal REGAL systems. Proofed work gets pushed into ECHO/REGAL. Project REGAL : Experimental game engine tailored for ECHO specifications. Then the "album" which will consist of all my live recordings for Beast and Echo projects. While the games use mostly synth tracks, the "album" uses as much live instrumentation as I can get my hands on; two electric Epiphone guitars, an electric Ibanez bass guitar and a Casio keyboard. A shake egg. A hand crafted didgeridoo a friend made from driftwood. I've already got material to contemplate a double album. Most of it was recorded this year, a little bit late last year. Once it's all finished, I'll probably sit on it until I figure out what I'm going to do with it. I have an older unreleased "rock" album but it sucks. Well, there are a few good things about it, a couple neat riffs, but I don't consider that a good "album" at all lol. 2023 is looking to be a busy year. Sorry for the long winded post, I don't get online very often but I stay 24/7 busy with work, family and these projects (in that order). I've been getting so much goddamn work done it makes my head spin, but it always feels like a snails crawl. Love and miss ya'll, keep doing whatever it is ya'll do! We got some amazing talent on this forum! RE: What's up, RMers? - Remi-chan - 08-28-2022 Glad to hear I'm not the only one being productive! Would love to hear your music some day, Kain! As for me... :0 A Milestone Worth Celebrating! Despite some recent and not-so recent attempts to bring me down a peg, I rise above and continue to make dope games and leave the haters behind. I also remastered the last of the cinematics, the anime opening which can be played from the menu. Fantasia ~Surreal Cosmic Progeny - Anime Opening Please enjoy~! RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 09-01-2022 Awesome work Remi! When in a resource making cold war, haters are going to come out with their negative comment missiles. 99% of them don't know how to operate a pencil, nor can they read or write proficiently beyond a 6th grade level, let alone put together fully animated music videos. It's like watching a bunch of n00bs critique Randy Rhodes guitar solos when the closest they've come to playing guitar is pressing some icon on their Spotify app which apparently causes music to play itself. "Look ma, it's Crazy Train!" I bet you most of them never tried. Most people only do what they're paid to do, nothing more, nothing less. And you do outstanding work! If you're hiring folks, you're hiring some good talent. It all comes together wonderfully. Some of the stuff I watched, I get lost and think I'm watching Cartoon Network. Then the video finishes and I am reminded Remi-Chan did that. Wait a minute, Remi-Chan did WHAT? Amazing! There she goes, doing it again! Encore, encore! RE: What's up, RMers? - Remi-chan - 09-03-2022 Thank you for the great praise! *_* I'm just trying to make good games for those who don't have the funds to pay for things. Charitous, yes-- but I'd be doing this anyway. Oh, and if you wanted an encore... you might just get it! Demo 3 Official Trailer RE: What's up, RMers? - kyonides - 09-09-2022 I was reading what a Japanese mangaka did to make sure that Chinese agents would stop plagiarizing his works: he included phrases like Tiananmen or Taiwan in his drawings. Since the CCP censorship hates such things, the illegal copies got deleted at once. Perhaps that might help you if you ever suspect the Chinese agents are stealing your very own resources or comics or manga. |
