RE: What's on your mind? - MechanicalPen - 01-11-2014 To be fair, almost every comic book character has had their awkward moments. Green Lantern used to be weak to wood, Superman went through its "evil Superman cover" phase, Spiderman has that whole Dr-Oc-is-Spiderman-Now thing going on. RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 01-11-2014 Couldn't get goofier than this... RE: What's on your mind? - Ahzoh - 01-11-2014 Mechanical Pen and DerVV, it's "Fan Service", it's not supposed to make sense/be legit. RE: What's on your mind? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 01-12-2014 Speaking of superheroes shows, I can't help but wonder about this new trend of having the heroes not to fight the most well-known members of their rogue's gallery. For example, the previously mentioned Agent of SMASH, the hulks have fought Annihilus and Ego the Living Planet, all enemies of the Fantastic Four. It's also happened in Ultimate Spiderman, only to a greater extent. In fact, the only regular Spiderman enemies that appeared on the first season were Doc Ock, Venom and Norman Osborn (who didn't became the Green Goblin until the season finale). All the other evil-doers were either directly related to the guess-starring super (Loki to Thor, Sabretooth to Wolverine, the Living Laser to Iron Man) or baddies from other comic book series like Juggernaut, Batroc the Leaper and Taskmaster. Beware the Batman is another example with a twist: they took minor villains like Anarky and Magpie as well as newcomers like Professor Pyg and Mr Toad to the spotlight. One can't help but wonder what would the Joker think about someone letting those d-list fodder to run the show. RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 01-12-2014 Don't worry about Magpie... even in the animated features: Batman Superman Public Enemies Wrote:Superman: "You know who I was thinking about the other day? Magpie." EDIT: Yep, she's dead. But I digress. Why use the lesser villains or villains from other heroes??? A change of pace. If you constantly used the same villains over and over, things could get stale. The Joker couldn't keep escaping Arkham Asylum so often he made monthly visits. Using lesser known characters that the current crop of viewers aren't aware makes things a surprise. Seriously? Anarchy and Magpie? How old was Anarchy? Still a kid on stilts or a fake mannequin on his shoulders to make him look 7' tall? I got Batman comics from Neal Adams through 90's Jim Aparo. RE: What's on your mind? - Kain Nobel - 01-16-2014 Look over there! It's a pterodactyl! No, it's a zombie! Oh nevermind, it's (da-da-da-DAAAAAAAAAA) INSOMNIA MAN, back at it again! And he's got more bags of Trix than a silly rabbit! Seriously though, the medication that I've been on knocked my ass out for a week, but a man's mind can only succumb to such slumber (and crappy television) before it snaps and goes back into zombie stomp mode. Feeling like a body without a head, went to the green and out-golfed my former boss and overlord on his invitation, then went to a power lunch to discuss the meanings of life and the universe. Damn well knowing he wants to purchase my soul for a measly sum, I chuckled menacingly and told him to not insult one with such low ball offers. Back home, contemplating sleep or development. Guess sleep is out of the question as, every time it nears, sensory deprivation kicks in with the form of stupid telemarketers and dogs barking at nothing of mortal interest. Dumb canines, congregating in a circle, woofing at thin air, it's down right ridiculous! Need to give DMX a call, see if he's interested in a dog sitting gig. RE: What's on your mind? - MetalRenard - 01-16-2014 *NSFW self censored* RE: What's on your mind? - Kirito - 01-17-2014 Hard drive crash, lost all my source files, need to get back my audio and video clips for my show. RE: What's on your mind? - MechanicalPen - 01-17-2014 That reminds me I need to back up my projects files. RE: What's on your mind? - Kain Nobel - 01-18-2014 Anybody thinking of committing time to do a Let's Play series, unless the game is of a freeware nature, might want to read this. Of the many titled I've bought in recent years, the decision to get them fell solely on viewing these videos prior to making the decision to purchase, especially with unfamiliar titles. |
