RE: What's up, RMers? - KasperKalamity - 10-24-2011 thats pretty helpful actually. i was using babynames.com for awhile, and rinkworks fantasy name generator. i think i have a pretty good mix of real and made up sounding names. i read about how in the earlu 1900's when polish immigrants would come through Ellis island, a common name they wanted was "diarrhea" because of how beautiful it sounds to a native polish speaker. one of the main villians in my story is named Clymidius. i think i did pretty well with that name since chlamydia comes from the greek word meaning "cloak" swearasaurus was a website that has swear words and insults in other languages, and was pretty helpful too for easter egg names. i dont think it's around anymore. edit: almost finished with a story fork. there should be enough new content for the next demo by 11/1 ( have to get it out before skyrim or else nobody will play, and i'll be too busy to work on it) RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 10-28-2011 I just finished a new faceset in less than 2 hours! RE: What's up, RMers? - Kristovski - 10-28-2011 That pretty impressive. Is your avatar one of them? As for me, working on graphics from scratch for a tileset that I'll hopefully use in my new project. Haven't used RMXP in a while, so I figured I'd start from the bottom and work my way up again. RE: What's up, RMers? - Zeriab - 10-30-2011 Playing around with a concept for my mouse implementation. Not really sure whether I like it or not. RE: What's up, RMers? - KasperKalamity - 10-31-2011 what does it do? (net's too slow to d/l it right now) Got the basic idea of what i want to do with the junior college of witchery and magic making. it's funny how my ideas have evolved over the years. i'm actually adding in a fetch quest to pad the length of my game. i've come as far as i have without really adding anything in that's not a direct consequence of the story up until that point. everything has just been marching along from one part to the next towards the end. RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 10-31-2011 Just finished making saguaro cacti for my beach/desert tileset, I've still got all the old make-frames for it. I'm going to post a tutorial with said frames sometime soon. But there is a preview. If its not animating, well... here's the final result. Oh yeah and I carved a bunch of pumpkins today too! Too bad I don't have a camera, I wish I could post 'em :( RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 11-01-2011 Speaking of... http://save-point.org/showthread.php?tid=3780&pid=25135#pid25135 Tutorial posted ;D EDIT: Made 2 new tracks too! For Your Twisted Amusement Monster Bumps RE: What's up, RMers? - KasperKalamity - 11-01-2011 is anybody who is working on a project interested in going in on a 'holiday bundle' of short demos? I was thinking about getting a few people together to cross promote their respective games with. RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 11-02-2011 Almost sounds like a contest! You could call it the "Demo for the Holidays" contest or something, perhaps with a New Years deadline. Then again, this is the busiest time of year so good luck to anybody trying to finish a demo lol [split] What's on your mind? - NightOwl - 11-10-2011 On the mind of the Resident Werewolf: (Don't mind I'm in my hidden guise account) Been working on a system so a guy can play as a thief. The ABS I'm using (like nearly every other) has a sneak system, so meh. I may add and option for hiding in shadows or camo. Could be fun. Could require a little bit of work. Maybe a costume or some other flag switch may be desired. I already have a lockpick system designed by someone else in 2007. Tried contacting the author, but she hasn't been around in nearly all 5 years since it was posted. I may try to make a safecracking variant later. So yesterday, my new thief script gives the ability to lift stuff from unaware NPCs. Yep, you can pickpocket 'em. You may set it up so only certain classes can have this ability. And you can get special bonuses to help you if you equip yourself with thieving gear to help steal from those guys. I just need to put in a limitation that you need to learn a special skill (or skills) to be able to use this thing. Now if I can tie it into the ABS so the victim's treasure (if you didn't steal it already) gets added into the treasure when you kill it. |
