RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 03-19-2016 What? Now I can't even watch DerV's favorite cat anymore... Anyway I find it weird that people come to any board expecting to let people know about any product or project they've been working on and doesn't even bother to partially translate the contents they're going to publish there. It doesn't matter if you know that a couple of forumers might also speak or partially understand that other language, it won't do any good to their product or project if most people don't even get the slightest idea on what he or she's talking about on his or her thread. I even ended up considering it as quite disrespectful, it's like expecting other people to learn your language by force. None of us lives in a communist like country AFAIK so... It's not my intention to make this a political post, it's just that some people don't realize that some attitude might be considered quite authoritarian. RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 03-22-2016 @Ahzoh: Think about how invasive and authoritarian it would be for you to learn another language just because some stupid guy or gal said that yours should not be spoken anymore. I read something about this new TV series called Ash vs Evil Dead, yeah, it's related to the Evil Dead movies, and grew tired of the lack of originality its plot offers. OK, any undead movie is plagued with stupidity and a lot of impossible things so it's not easy for some people to swallow them up like they would do with a thriller or a more conventional action movie (like Avengers?). Even so after I learned about its premise and a bit more I decided that Ruby Knowby played by Lucy Lawless (Xena as in Xena The Warrior Princess) should get rid of Ash played by Bruce Campbell, it's just impossible for me to say he doesn't deserve it, especially after he made the same mistake once again. I think humanity in Ash's world would just not tolerate him for committing such undeadly crimes at least twice in a single generation time. RE: What's on your mind? - Bounty Hunter Lani - 03-25-2016 So apparently there are a lot of mixed reviews on Batman vs. Superman... The movie made Angry Joe turn into Angrier Joe, and since I haven't watched his spoilers video on it, I don't know why. All I know is apparently Ben Affleck was a REALLY good Batman from what I'm hearing, so there's that at least RE: What's on your mind? - Ahzoh - 03-25-2016 As fas as ive heard, it's the kind of movie that people who arent huge batman fans would enjoy. @Kyonides: It could be authoritarian, but lots of non-authoritarian societies have tried to force their languages upon others, like America. Just dunno why you made the connection between "forcing language upon people" with "communist society". RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 03-26-2016 Okay... first thing on my mind. YAH!!!!! I'M BACK ONLINE!!!!! Seriously, I disabled something a while ago that prevented me from surfin' the net to get here. Now, regarding Bats vs Supes... I haven't seen it yet, but I have a long history with the Dark Knight series. I am also aware of the recent treatment of the so-called New52 character types. So when I see it, I'll probably be more of a test subject than those that are not familiar with the character. Mind you, I am aware that they were taking material from Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns". Hell, the whole Bat outfit he wears (both armored and unarmored) is pure Miller from the graphic novel. Yeah, I know Bats. So I'll be a decent judge, not some lame critic that may only a passing knowledge.... I swear, some critic said that George Lucas was returning the Star Trek Trilogy back to the theaters back in the day. IT'S THE STAR WARS TRILOGY, YOU MORON!!! RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 03-29-2016 If people thought that superflatgirl was a goof what will they think right after the Superflatty-Speedster crossover? She's reckless for a superheroine and gets pretty much no help from Barry Allen who gets easily defeated by one of sup's foes. Man, if I had no other choice but The Flash to get rid of a criminal or metahuman or mystic creature I would prefer to deal with the menace on my own for sure. I guess I couldn't agree more with Cat Grant's point of view, the guy looked more like a young sidekick than a helpful coworker. RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 03-30-2016 I went to see "Batman V Superman" today and enjoyed it. However, let me stress that this is a DC comics movie and has used material ground in the history of the DC Universe. So for those who are not familiar with material from the past twenty years, there may be a level of confusion. And for those would-be critics who wish to dismiss the movie or lay hate upon it, I would ask them how much they know about the actual title character 'Batman' other than from the movies. Yes, I say that the lead is Batman rather than being an ensemble piece. It could be prejudice on my part, but I think that Mister Cowl and Cape had more screen time than any of the others. SuperSpoiler Be Very afraid.... In my opinion, the story was a B-(minus), detailed in criminal cunning that did require a detective to determine what was happening until the reveal However, some may not accept this Batman if they are unfamiliar with the character's history of the past 25 years. Action was also a B-(minus), executed well but it some facets were derived from other sources. Granted, it was the action's source of power, but also its slight failing. Mind you, action alone is not what drives the film. Music was A-(minus) (do I ever give anything a plus?), afterall... it is a Hans Zimmer score. And the players/cast was a C+ (finally, a plus). Good acting overall, but I cannot get over Eisenberg. But I have hopes for Irons. And I want that batmobile. RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 03-31-2016 Now even Batman works for Uber. Man, the economic crisis afflicts more people than I could ever foresee... So what's next? Superman working for UPS or FedEx? RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 04-01-2016 Actually, the Flash did have a stint delivering flowers. |
