RE: What's on your mind? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 11-05-2017 This may seem a bit random but does anybody here know a Japanese game company called Imageepoch? They developed a bunch of RPGs for handhelds consoles, namely DS and PSP. Today I learned that the company filled for bankruptcy back then in 2015, citing declining sales and debt. I also found out that a few months prior to the studio going belly up, the company CEO Ryoei Mikage disappeared without a trace and remains missing until this very day. Also, there are several rumors that said that Mr. Mikage is on the run from the Yakuza after accumulating hefty debts due to Imageepoch's failing offerings. Quite the tale, all things considered. RE: What's on your mind? - Bounty Hunter Lani - 11-05-2017 Ahh Yakuza... such a great series. Oh wait, you mean the REAL Yakuza? Yeah, I'd be on the run as well. Probably always dress up in different over-the-top outfits every day, always with a hat. Good luck to him, he's (hopefully) made it 2 years now I looked up Imageepoch, and apparently they were behind a couple Fate games and even Yoshi's New Island. That's interesting, since I wasn't aware the sales were bad on any of them. Ahh, so what's on my mind now? Pizza pizza! Last night was the first night in a few weeks where I didn't have to cook! I got some Little Caesars pizza, and it sure was delicious! With the time I saved, I was able to work on Destiny of End, and managed to get a lot of a small town finished. I also changed the title screen music, since the other one was bothering me for some reason. But now I wonder when the next time I'll have free time is? My mother is slowly recovering, day by day, and hopefully I'll slowly get more time as she recovers. Hopefully. RE: What's on your mind? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 11-06-2017 (11-05-2017, 03:03 PM)Bounty Hunter Lani Wrote: Ahh Yakuza... such a great series. Methinks the main problem with Imageepoch is that they were the self-proclaimed "Saviors of JRPGs", the ones destined to usher us in a glorious new age the likes never seen since the SNES/PS1 era. Sadly, most of the RPGs they developed were average at best, nothing really to write home about. So the company came up short and became the butt of jokes among RPG enthusiasts. Still, they will be missed by the few that actually enjoyed their works, like yours truly. Also Yoshi's New Island was developed by Arzest, a developer studio founded by members of Artoon (Yoshi's island DS) shortly after the company went defunct. RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 11-06-2017 I could say steel love videogames defunct game developing companies published XD Later on I'll publish the newest version of chapter 3 Wanderers, now it's over 6000 words long. I also wrote a new poem handling time traveling! It's entitled Let Me Pick a Destination for You! RE: What's on your mind? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 11-06-2017 There's a bit of truth in that. My favourite game companies are either dead (Sacnoth/Nautilus, Hudson Soft) or are now a pale shadow of their former selves (Rare, Konami). RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 11-08-2017 Well, I feel slightly better now that I posted a new story entitled Black Collars, it's about 2000 words long now, it handles the life experiences of an outsider living in the Queendom of Gale, yeah, a fictitious place indeed. Besides I also wrote another two poems, namely I Do Have a Wish After All and Last Minute Sacrifices, the latter probably being considered a very thoughtful(?) poem by some avid readers. RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 11-09-2017 Well, I updated my stories Escaping from Alluring Fate and Black Collars, I hope you all find them interesting enough as to keep reading them! (I might need your support to keep storytelling after all...) And I don't think Princess Amelia can be a good drummer after all, unless she eventually cries something like "the drummer of justice" XP RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 11-11-2017 Yeah people! I showed up for the nth time to update my stories, namely Escaping from Alluring Fate and Black Collars. I also wrote poems like Last Minute Sacrifices and Do You Not Agree With Me?, both of them sport characters like my favorites, mainly Vlad Hammer, Grave Dispatcher and Al Payne. This time in Black Collars, mister Bodkin, the main hero, was convinced to pay a visit to a lovely priestess that is supposed to help him confront whatever is waiting for him at the Evil Magic Pot shop. Also Sir Julius, a brave knight from Escaping from Alluring Fate, has to face a difficult enemy that looks like an imp but also has some dirty tricks up his sleeve so he will soon need to find out a way to deal with such a pesky monster. What will he do then? RE: What's on your mind? - KDC - 11-11-2017 Kind of disappointed a bit for pre ordering a new game, installing it on my dad's PC, because it's way better than both of my PCs, only to discover that it crashes halfway into Level 1, thus forcing me to use my brother's PC to beat the game. I have discovered the problem though, apparently the CPU lacks SSE 1.4, which caused the crash on Level one, and mostly other levels apparently. Right now I'm just waiting for either a patch, or someone to fix it themselves since I'm not a coder. RE: What's on your mind? - Ahzoh - 11-12-2017 The conlang bulletin board I visit recently updated their phpBB and now the forum looks like garbage. |
