RE: What's on your mind? - BeJeremiah - 01-14-2018 Finding new scripting ideas beyond reinventing the wheel may be a difficult. Why not go through some upcoming projects and see if you get ideas from game makers who have no scripting ability at all. You'd save many people time searching for something that can find here. RE: What's on your mind? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 01-16-2018 Lately, I've been having some issues involving my mouse stuttering, lagging or freezing out of the blue. Then I discovered that the problem may lie with my computer as my dad lend me his mouse and the problems persisted. The one thing that I think may be behind this is the fact I had to switch the keyboard, mouse and monitor repeatedly between my own computer and a workstation that was gifted to my dad by one of his co-workers. I can only assume that messed up the drivers of the mouse somehow. RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 01-18-2018 But... I might love to reinvent the wheel! Besides scripts like Klearance can't be considered as another reinvention of the wheel since there aren't many scripts like it floating around the www. I hate the lack of ideas, especially when I have lots of caffeine to spend while creating new scripts or updating existing ones. Sadly, my caffeine supply is now at its bare minimum and I'm getting scared! What will I do if that gets depleted while working on an interesting script? Right, I've got no such a great idea anyway... RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 01-19-2018 Actually I do hate Firefox 57+, now none of my useful extensions work. It has disabled them because "they did not meet their standards" or "they could not be verified". Oh really? Chatzilla and Session Manager have been quite good for years, even some ftp extension was excluded as well. I don't really care a lot about GreaseMonkey, but sometimes it proved to be helpful. By the way, a torrent extension was deactivated as well, not that I even recall why I kept it there. Oh yeah, and tonight I could not even open mediafire nor mega... Yeah, a wonderful night it is... RE: What's on your mind? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 01-19-2018 Speaking of which, I'm still using Firefox 37 because my computer cannot run any newer version without the risk of bursting into flames. Also, turns out it was my mouse that was failing and eventually just stopped working entirely. Brought a new one and haven't got any issues so far. RE: What's on your mind? - Bounty Hunter Lani - 01-22-2018 So I've been following a saga recently in regards to a PS2 emulator having their code stolen and put on the Google Play mobile market to make money from it. I want to bring a bit of attention to it for just a moment. PCSX2 had code blatantly ripped from their emulator and placed into an emulator called "DamonPS2", who began selling it for a lot of money. Apparently, it's possible they also stole PPSSPP code in order to make it possible to play on Mobile as well, which is an even bigger no-no, and they should probably look into the situation as well. Now, DamonPS2 keep removing the app from the Google Play store a day or two after and putting it back onto the store again and again, in order to prevent a full DMCA claim to go through on the app, since technically they've changed one minor thing or two and that technically makes it a "New" app they need to file a DMCA claim on. It's extremely scummy, and DamonPS2 are making a LOT of money from doing this. Every download costs money. $10 per download in fact. And people keep redownloading it and paying for it over and over again, as well as new victims who are buying it without knowing the situation. If you look on their Facebook page, there are a lot of swooning goofballs who think DamonPS2 are the saviors and sole owners of 100% of the code, and say the PCSX2 team are lying, despite the team having actual evidence of their code being stolen line for line. DamonPS2 said they would take the app down from the store when they "got 80 million downloads", which... is very unlikely. They even offered money to the PCSX2 team. There are people that were paid for good reviews on DamonPS2 that are defending them, saying PCSX2 are lying and the evidence is 100% fabricated, despite there being an "affiliate" link in the description and they don't mention that at all in the video, making their biased views unknown to the viewer. Where did the DamonPS2 emulator come from? Why now? Where did they get the money to pay for positive reviews? Where are they getting the money to offer the PCSX2 team? (Other than the money they got from the downloads, of course) This all stinks. Original post from PCSX2 is here: https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-The-PCSX2-team-s-statement-regarding-the-DamonPS2-emulator?pid=577212#pid577212 Okay, that's all. Have a nice day. RE: What's on your mind? - Bounty Hunter Lani - 01-22-2018 I saw a trailer for Dynasty Warriors 9, and I have a lot of mixed feelings about it. The Open-World aspect is something they should've saved for the Empires game they're no doubt going to make, but oh well. Not sure if it'll feel like a Dynasty Warriors game now, but I suppose you'd have to play it to see for sure if it does. I noticed they had "Reaction attacks", where you basically press Triangle at the right time during an opponent's attack, and it does a special attack as a counter it. That's something I haven't seen since... Kingdom Hearts 2? And it's weird to have it in a Dynasty Warriors game. As if you weren't killing the footsoldiers fast enough already or something? Finally, the voice actors... They changed dubbing companies, so they don't have the same voice actors they've had for over a decade. The new voice actors are..... meh. Guess I'm just used to the great voices they had before. It's a shame, but I guess they must save money by using this one or something. They could've just... not dubbed it though, right? They've done that before, and it turned out pretty well RE: What's on your mind? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 01-25-2018 A bit of random trivia: Naramura, the artist responsible for those widely used RMXP battlers, is also one of the brains behind La-Mulana, the "Archaeological Ruin Exploration Action Game" that was published some years ago. This certainly explains why La-Mulana's official artworks seemed to be so familiar to me. RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 01-25-2018 The only thing you have proved here would be that I cannot call myself a true gamer since I do not know what you are talking about Can we really say silence equals people's approval? I am not sure about it... RE: What's on your mind? - Steel Beast 6Beets - 01-25-2018 No problems here. I just found out amusing it took me so long to figure the connection the Naramura from the RMXP battlers fame and the Naramura from the creative team of La Mulana despite so forehead-smackingly obvious now. |
