RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 04-13-2019 Even if I do live in a small country, public servants manage to do incredibly stupid stuff every so often to "amaze" their people. Don't you believe me, guys? O_o? Then take a look at this meme the Consejo Nacional de Vialidad (an office in charge of public infrastructure like bridges and roads but not public buildings) have posted on social media today. The first sentence says "To get the roads we want demands patience". Below you may read "we had to say it and so we did". Aren't they some real morons? =_= What a shameful day in Costa Rican modern history! RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 04-13-2019 It has been a quite long day already, even if we have not seen the dusk as of yet. While I was out looking for some simple but delicious "delikatessen" like the queque seco, I learned about some robbery that took place at a public bank located right in front of the bakery I was paying a visit! A white car parked near the main entrance, then 3 guys stepped out of it. One of them walked with crutches and even so he had to go up the stairs in order to reach the bank's front door. There he asked the security guard, who was unarmed , to help him enter the bank. What a terrible mistake! His kindness was replied in return by the other two guys dressed up as construction workers by means of pointing at him with their guns! Yeah, everything is fine, there is nothing to worry about... They went in and emptied the cash registers, collecting about 14 million colones, roughly some US$23200. Yeah, I know it's a ridiculous amount for a bank robbery. https://www.crhoy.com/nacionales/con-muletas-asaltante-distrajo-a-guarda-en-millonario-asalto-a-banco/ Some Moronic Journalist wrote Wrote:...aseguró el testigo de apellido Delgado, quien pidió resguardar su identidad. Well, if you are trying to keep an eye witness's identity a secret, why on Earth would you tell people his last name, Delgado, and even let the criminals know he has a couple!? But that is not all, folks! When I went out searching for some rice and a soft drink, the mini market lady told me there had been another robbery. This time it happened at another mini market, managed by some Asian guy, who had faced another armed criminal. The thing is that he could not have lost more than 3 million colones, still, he did not have to worry about it for long. I would prefer to assert now that that petty wrongdoer walked down the street only to be run over with style! You know, not every day you can get hit by some luxury car like an Alfa Romeo! And yes, the Asian storekeeper did get his money back. Meanwhile, the culprit left traces of hair and could not stop yelling out of pain. Yeah, I know it really hurts, but that does not mean it is not an laughable ending as well. Wait a second! O_o? There was another attempt to rob a department store as well! Police caught two Colombians who tried to extortion or rob the employees there. RE: What's on your mind? - yamina-chan - 04-15-2019 I keep checking back on the status of Notre Dame every hour or so. It's saddening, to say the least. I hope the worst can be averted, even if the loss so far is allready great. RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 04-16-2019 Tomorrow morning, I'm taking my dad to the hospital for bloodwork. I wasn't aware until recently that he's had anemia. And with him 92, the doc who suggested this appointment said it's gotten worse. RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 04-16-2019 Got back from the hospital with my dad an hour ago. Been snagging Gazette Post links for all this time According to the hematologist, my dad's anemia is getting better. He says it's likely because of improvements in kidney function. And for 92, his blood pressure is doing well! But at 92, ... rofl. At times he is stone deaf. At others, he can hear just fine. RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 04-17-2019 Too much birch beer!? Well, I have to report just another robbery here. Yesterday a gun store called the police because a so called patron took advantage of the employee's overconfidence and stole a hand gun just like that. What did the local police do? Nothing because the store had its own security guards. =_= RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 04-17-2019 Are you freakin' serious? That's it? They had to do something, interview the guards, get the camera footage, get the serial and ballistics of the gun... RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 04-17-2019 Serial number!? Pffft, the criminals never leave it untouched, police already knows about their "rituals" usually called MO. They know they will use it to kill people or sell it to drug dealers, who will murder somebody sooner or later. Of course, the OIJ will investigate the issue but the police should have closed roads and search for weapons hidden in any cars... Still, they are lazier than your fellow shark. =_= RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 04-17-2019 (04-17-2019, 05:10 AM)kyonides Wrote: Still, they are lazier than your fellow shark. =_= Wait... What? RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 04-17-2019 Like people usually say, consider this... You got a police station in town, you feel relatively safe, perhaps as to let your kids and cats go out at night. Next morning comes and the police highest officials and the corresponding department of security announce that they need to save money and the way to do it will be shutting down that very same police station and post all officers to the closet station. Then you notice that nothing happens during the next couple of days or weeks till they also make the same decision and close that station as well. Then you end up with no station around because the only station available is several kilometers or miles away from you. Oh but that's not all, goofs! Now police takes longer and longer to show up even to patrol the area. What comes next? Well, thugs arrive and start robbing your neighbors! Still, it's even worse than that, they come back weeks later to rob them once again! Only then you might watch police officers patrol the area for a day or two... They stop "protecting" you and guess what? It doesn't take long for them to hit the homes and stores an nth time! Right, I forgot to mention that once upon a lifetime you discover that a petty criminal with a gun got hit by an Alfa Romeo. |
