RE: What's on your mind? - KDC - 02-25-2020 So I have a total of three laptops: - My Acer Aspire 4730Z laptop, which I had since I graduated High School back at 2011 - My Pink Dell Latitude Laptop, which already had Windows 10 installed when I got it - An iCRAIG laptop, which is actually an Android device, apparently, with a touchpad mouse and keyboard, like a laptop usually has. The one question I have right now is this, and it might be because Windows 10 on the dell is not up to date yet, HOW IS THE DELL SMOOTHER IN RUNNING WINDOWS 10 THAN THE ACER!? They both have 2GB of RAM, yet the Dell seems to be running the OS better than the Acer. The heck!? And the iCRAIG is just...... well.... and Android device with a laptop keyboard and mouse style..... and no touchscreen. Got no complaints here. What's interesting about the Dell laptop is that it can be better than the Acer by attaching to the right dock, but I don't exactly have one, so I'm running Windows 10, on a Dell Latitude, dockless. In video game terms, I'm using the Dell at its Base Stats. I'm gonna be messing with the Dell for a little bit and see what I'm doing wrong with the Acer. It might be because I installed a bit too much for the laptop to handle, but it's a guess. RE: What's on your mind? - Bounty Hunter Lani - 02-26-2020 My friend and I both had the same problem with Google Chrome on the same day, yet it began a few days ago. We both got the latest updates of Google Chrome a few days ago, and the program managed to somehow lock itself into de-syncing and logging out of everything whenever you would close the program. Neither of us noticed until today. After tons and tons of troubleshooting and losing tons of my passwords, the only thing that worked to stop the issue was rolling back to Google Chrome version 76 and locking it there by breaking the updates. Yup. Google goofed something up, and I'm not going to update anymore. NO way. I already lost my naptime, I'm not dealing with this again RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 02-26-2020 Hence why I use an open-source Firefox Mozilla derivative. RE: What's on your mind? - KDC - 02-26-2020 So I discovered that my Acer laptop can run a bit smoother...... without a monitor plugged into it. Apparenlty it can handle its screen, but when a monitor, which may have a bigger screen resolution, gets plugged in, it gets sluggish. If that ain't an improvement, I don't know what is. and I'm still trying to figure out why the Dell runs it smoother, but I guess it might be less programs running in the background. I did uninstall a couple of programs. Oh and since my Acer's Windows 10 is Windows 10 Pro, I can use my iCRAIG laptop to control the laptop more remotely than it already is by using Microsoft's Remote Desktop app. I forgot Microsoft made a Remote Desktop android app till now. The Acer Aspire laptop, and the Dell both have a shot battery that may never be replaced due to the change in times. RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 02-26-2020 Then I hope you won't find a DejaBlue derivative bug in the RDP service. I ignore if the RDP android app is secure, I mean, is properly patched or not... Did any of you know that the smallest republic in the world is named Uzupis? O_o? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U%C5%BEupis Gladly the article says it doesn't really exist. RE: What's on your mind? - Bounty Hunter Lani - 02-26-2020 @KDC: I'm no expert, but plugging in a monitor uses up a computer's GPU. It's why so many multi-monitor setups require strong GPUs. Using a laptop to do it, well... they're weaker than a regular computer. Yeeeeah, it's lame, but I wouldn't recommend doing that. That's probably why it was sluggish. In fact, I've read that it can straight up kill the life of your GPU! Which is why people do powerful GPU SLI setups for multi-monitors. Otherwise, their GPU won't last very long, no matter how strong it is. Too much load putting constant pressure on the poor GPU over extended periods of time sounds spooky. So like, what's on my mind today? SLEEP! I've been sleeping poorly the past few months, and I think I figured out why. The LOCATION of my bed! Where I had it, I would wake up many times during the night. My neighbors slam doors so hard, you'd think there was an earthquake shaking my entire room! The location had me hearing every door slam, every time they guy downstairs dropped a pan, every time they turned their TV on at 1 or 4 in the morning.... and the LIGHTS! THE LIGHTS!!! Ohhh, the sun shines directly into my room and it hit me super hard every morning! Every time the automatic lights were activated outside during the nights, the light would flood my room! I couldn't nap during the day, because the sunlight was superduper strong and very bothersome! Soooo, now that my bed is moved, I don't hear doorslams, I don't hear their TVs, the sunlight and automatic lights don't get into my eyes, and I can nap again! I've felt more refreshed, more alive, more motivated, and most importantly... more creative! I feel like I can have the proper words for conversations and ideas again! Amazing what a simple change of location of my bed did. I used to have my bed here. I don't think I'll be moving it except to clean under it. I think this is my spot RE: What's on your mind? - KDC - 02-27-2020 (02-26-2020, 04:44 PM)Bounty Hunter Lani Wrote: @KDC: I'm no expert, but plugging in a monitor uses up a computer's GPU. And that's reformat. The PC's given me no choice. So I have to do it, as much as I don't want to. Luckily, I'm a Windows Insider, so I can use Insider builds to do the trick. RE: What's on your mind? - KDC - 02-27-2020 Welp. Somehow I knew the culprit was the hard drive all along, but I have to do it anyway... if it'll let me. RE: What's on your mind? - kyonides - 03-03-2020 You know you have just watched too many History Channel's shows when you start claiming... Yeah, a Rookie Mistake for sure! RE: What's on your mind? - KDC - 03-03-2020 Huh... Seems like it's thunder storming at almost 2:00 A.M. And How I Met Your Mother claims nothing good happens at 2 am. Wait. Thunderstorms aren't good either, unless you are generating power from it via, Benjamin Franklin style, except replace the person with a lightning rod attached to some sort of generator. |
