TROUBLE AND COUNTING!!!

Indeed, the device that relays all the wifi signal in my house is dead.  Amazingly, the phone and cable still works, but when one is expecting eMails, does maintenance for the forum (I was about to look into a replacement for the Forum Stats window), and other things... its STOOPID!

I am hoping to reconnect some time tomorrow.   The day after at the latest.

Doesn't mean I might not swing by the library (in the busted wheel car)...

At the library again... the Wifi device had not shown up yet....

BUT I did get a phone call from my insurance, and not bad.  For a car I bought twenty years ago, I'm still getting over 1/3rd what I paid BACK!  More than enough for a down-payment,.

Granted, they had fun with the Garage (The mechanic ... of course... neglected to send pics of the damage as required).

NOW to continue shopping.

EDIT: The Wifi Device is working Beautifully

Now to get the car and AC to do the same...

Just to say... I got my new(ish) car last week. And my old car been towed away for the insurance company to have and pay me for the damage. Admittedly, not a bad settlement since I'm getting 1/3d back what I paid for it nearly 20 years ago.

Now the *blarg* part was that the USB jacks for the radio were borked. So I had to make an appointment to have it looked at (at no cost). Well, its a 2 mile drive, and it had to be left there as they didn't know how long it would take.

*Its a 2 mile/1-hour WALK home too.*

Now I had a bite... watched a bit online... got a call... its DONE!!!

*Cue the 2 mile/1-hour WALK back to the garage.*

Dang right I was dehydrated from a mid-day walk. A bit of heat exhaustion, and I'm still recovering. Oof.

Glad it's finally over, Der. What an epic drama story you had to go through, it would have drove me insane 0_0

RE: What's on your mind? - DerVVulfman - 09-04-2024

I still got the AC next.

Reminds me of the time I had no choice but to go back home from the hardware store with some zinc sheets on my shoulders during a Thirsty sunny weekend. I was less than half a mile away, like 500 meters, when I had to buy some Soda refreshments ASAP. Gladly, I soon took a cab that had recently finished helping an old lady with her grocery bags.

I really hope I don't have to go through something like that ever again. Confused

One of these days, I should get a Driver License so I could experience what it is to deal with cars that decide to screw you over on a whim.

RE: What's on your mind? - Remi-chan - 09-13-2024

Me and my mum recently decided to sell our car and rely on the public transport which is amazing, i should know I've been riding high on that life of style the past 10 years.

As for whats on my mind, oh... y'know.

#Dev stuff...

Mostly really getting tempted to start producing a test demo and just start working on Seraphim before realizing all the placeholders I'd have to put together and other junk I'd have to work out. Not to mention I have to basically do a bunch of work on Fantasia to update it to its new battle systems / controls as well as fixing more and more of the dialogue on Disk 0. I've already done a bunch in that regard. The entire Vahnus Estate is almost completely updated so far as flavor text goes. There's a couple old things that need to be fixed / pruned but yeah, for the most part its now on the main story and fixing up certain battle encounters. The tutorial will be a lot more fluid, fun and all -encompassing so I can make the fights that come later such as that with the Bat-fanged Carson, Captain Nelson and such more intense and less like filler easy mode stuff.

Then of course, I have to just largely put Flight out of my mind since i have work to do on Fantasia, the same goes for Junked but I'm happy for it to stay as is given it's Demo 2 and lack of complexity as it is just a generic jrpg (mechanically speaking) at the end of the day.

Been writing up dialogue for Fantasia Disk 3 and the optional events in regards to that, lots going on, just not much i can actualyl share or that will be very exciting!

It seems Trump isn't the first and probably not the last GOP candidate or president in US history to survive such an attempt. Shocked

Serious Seriously? It only took them 2 months to try assassinating Trump again!? Incredible
Man, it kind of Hurt hurts to be right on this kind of prediction. Confused
So will there be a third attempt on his life? Shocked I hope not.

RE: What's on your mind? - Remi-chan - 09-17-2024

I think wishing either political candidate be assassinated is a foolish and garbage take to have, if only because it is a discomforting measure of destroying democracy. In the case the assassination succeeds, you may have a despot arise as a dictator on the opposing side, while failure can lead to the Darth Sidious effect of reforming a republic into an empire via sympathy of the masses to place a dictator in power. These are only two nightmare scenarios, there are more that can arise from such careless measures.

Martyrdom and Revolution are the two most common results of such blatantly anti-democratic acts, it boggles the mind that this happened to begin with. What is even worse is seeing nitwits on twitter being rancid and wishing they'd hit. I'd be just as appalled if someone took aim at Kamala Harris or Clinton.

I'm generally neutral in the whole American political race, I think both sides are monstrously idiotic and unfit to lead, but its not like they really can do much to fix the systemic rot that has become so far reaching in American society that it really matters, anyway.

I do tend to gravitate a little more towards Trump just because he's not an institutionally brain-dead tool and can think for himself, which is why he is so despised by his political opponents.

But I also recognize it is that very agency which could make him dangerous.

That all aside, I've been thinking mostly about the futures of some of my characters at present, my brain keeps brainstorming little stories.
