RE: Maps and screenshots thread - Crono - 08-15-2013 I'm really wanting to make an attempt at a game. Here are some screenies of the modified battlesystem that I'm using. RTAB + Animated Battlers + Formations. Depending on the amount of characters that you have in the party influences how the battle status HUD looks like. More streamlined rather than having empty space in a box. I was also trying to go for a Lufia type thing with the characterset being the battler in the front facing view. It's not perfect but it works as I like it. Battle System Also, some maps. Mapping is something I've never been too great at so any suggestions would be great! Maps Looking forward to the feedback! RE: Maps and screenshots thread - KasperKalamity - 08-15-2013 i would suggest using the circle tool to paint the water in. water is never square in nature. in the cave, there is a tile that doesn't have the ground under it for the curved walls. use that, and put the water right up to the edge. also, it's not that deep on the cave tileset, why not make it passable, and flag it as a bush? then you can walk through the water, and it'll be waist deep. on the hill map, the bridge is on an incline because of how the edge of the hill curves up and over. the one in the middle is taller than the other two. if you want to make it stick out more, don't curve them back in, and use the cliff corner tiles. RE: Maps and screenshots thread - KasperKalamity - 08-26-2013 here's what i'm doing. the sand was a pain RE: Maps and screenshots thread - Ahzoh - 08-27-2013 some sand squares looks lighter than the rest... RE: Maps and screenshots thread - KasperKalamity - 08-27-2013 they're tiles that are half grass, have skeletons on them, or have the cliff corner piece. i redid the corner pieces, and took the sand out from under them so they're just corners on the tile. RE: Maps and screenshots thread - KasperKalamity - 09-02-2013 finished the tileset and panorama for the desert! the whole game is going to look like this when it's done. RE: Maps and screenshots thread - JayRay - 09-02-2013 very nice! Liking the sepia tone idea a lot. RE: Maps and screenshots thread - KasperKalamity - 09-05-2013 about half done with this town! also cleaned up the thatch roof chicken coop RE: Maps and screenshots thread - cosmickitty - 09-06-2013 :o that guy is giant... doesn't look like he'd fit through the door :P RE: Maps and screenshots thread - Charlie Fleed - 09-08-2013 This is the world map. You thought it was a banana, I know. |
