RE: What's up, RMers? - Charlie Fleed - 06-13-2012 when you start worrying about that stuff, it's time to change the game engine RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 06-14-2012 Just finished the last of my 11 hair styles project. I may add more eye and mouth shapes and increase the variety for the visual faces system. Yep, Visual Faces. RE: What's up, RMers? - MetalRenard - 06-14-2012 Visual Faces, the new concept by DerVVulfman that will revolutionise what you know about your face. Years later, a doctor will tell me that I have an I.Q. of 48 and am what some people call... "Mentally Retarded". (Anchorman FTW!) ___ I'm busy trying to be busy! Looking for more opportunities and broadening my horizons as a composer for games and creative media. Watch out, World, the METAL FOX is here! RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 06-14-2012 I've spent four days straight getting my hustle on with my project, expanding my XP world map tileset, refining and prioritizing the tasks I've set forth in my game development document, coming up with new concepts that haven't been explored yet, etc. I've also found quite a few proper shortcuts to not only speed up my graphics but improve the overall definition of the materials I create later on. So much has got done these past few days and kept missing everybody in IRC, but all-in-all it has been an awesome week! RE: What's up, RMers? - Taylor - 06-14-2012 Will that world map tileset be used to make that kinda pretty spinning globe there in your avatar? EDIT: Today's 2am achievement - stat buffs behaving. A defbuff will only remove a buff (not add itself) if any exist, or vice-versa. Haven't tested 'reset buffs/debuffs' skills yet though. I should, but not at 2am. I feel like a lot of this work will go under-appreciated by those unaware many behaviours I'm adding aren't built into RMXP... EDIT: 'Clear all of a stacked state' now works. RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 06-15-2012 The spinning globe is a tiny version of the same Earth I drew for my title screen. I plan on actually making a full size version of this and making it spin slowly, depending on how laggy it proves to be or not lol. While I originally planned to develop my world map on one giant looping map, I've realized the error of my ways and am now separating it into a table of individual maps. There is more reasons than just lag, but it further gave me an even neater idea. Doing things this way will not only give me region-specific control over encounters and whatnot (using XP and all, I don't have tile/area based encounter control @_@) but I'll also be able to set up certain events that would be difficult to manage on a larger scale map. Here is one of the concepts I've come up with based on this decision. Restricted Air Space I've also come up with another concept I suppose I could share... Follow the Traffic I've got hundreds of little concept notes like this, but I really like these two so I'll likely use them lol. RE: What's up, RMers? - Hybrida - 06-16-2012 I'm just editing mini games in my project. Mainly the game where you try to escape from female aliens trying to rap-- Err, okay. I'm just editing mini games then >_>. RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 06-19-2012 I've lost count how many hours of work I put in today, I know its slightly more than 24.5 hours because that's just when I stopped keeping track. Anyways, all night and day and night again I had cracked some whip on myself like an immigrant slave, but that's what it takes to get err done! While everything planned for today wasn't finished, I've easily set a few milestones and done some proper planning for whats next. The tileset for my XP world map is getting more and more diverse, the only thing I need to do is re-organize and make room for new stuff, and create more of the various mountain types at different scales to give the map more depth. I added some street and bridge tiles, all my mountains have half and full snow variations now too! There is so much more I want to tell everybody about, but I've already pushed it to the limit today and don't have enough MP to summon a bigger wall of text lol. I'll get some screenshots posted as soon as things aren't so chaotic and I'm able to concentrate on finally mapping again, for now its bed time :D RE: What's up, RMers? - DerVVulfman - 06-20-2012 After tooling a Hud Addon for an ABS made for RPGMaker VX (not my favorite engine mind you) and finishing an optimization system for Guillaume777's Multislot system, I got to work on the faceset portion of my characterset generator / message system for my game. I redid the eyes... shapes... colors... made them better. Added better arched eyebrows and hope to get to redo the noses and really add better mouths. They're kinda plain. Yep, I'm still spriting. RE: What's up, RMers? - Kain Nobel - 06-20-2012 Once it's wired into the forum, I made an icon for XNA-related project posts. How does it look, is it readable enough? The resident werewolf says that it must be 16x16, so making it bigger isn't really an option lol. I don't know what I'm going to get into tonight so we'll see where the darkness takes me, I'll try and keep ya updated. |
