RE: Maps and screenshots thread - Taylor - 03-13-2016 That should be possible - it sells all contents of the window, so I could set it to show any type, or all types (I think?), and it'll sell them. Your last submission, Kasper, reminds me of a cousin of yours I've found on photobucket and posted on Resources Database. yeah some like the restaurants, theatre, and jazz lounge don't have windows because there aren't any good placeholder windows in the rtp, and i haven't drawn the exact ones i want yet. the four blocks of white brick shops all have unique display windows with merchandise indicating what you can buy there. everything is using my custom redrawn rtp so it has a style and matches. it bothers me when tilesets and charsets don't match each other. So with that said, here's a chapter's worth of maps where the tilesets don't match. the important thing is that it's done, right? RE: Maps and screenshots thread - Steel Beast 6Beets - 03-13-2016 I recall the Kepties. Or rather, the sprites you showed us a while ago. I also remember the dwarf caves full of junk and the swamp where you travel using giant bubbles. As a funny note: the other day I heard a Johnny Cash song and I couldn't help but wonder why it seemed so familiar to me. Then I remembered that a midi of said song is used as a shop theme in your game. RE: Maps and screenshots thread - kyonides - 03-13-2016 Here you may see a couple of screenshots of a very simple main menu script that should either show faces or character sprites on screen. The main problem is that I don't know what else I should do to make it look and feel different to the default and very ugly RMXP main menu. THIS! it's almost done! 3 more important buildings, and a few more house AND THAT'S ALL FOLKS! RE: Maps and screenshots thread - Taylor - 03-23-2016 Originally I had control help as an image tied to other UI elements. Since I ended up having to make a screen with a good handful of changing control indicators, I decided I should actually make it text-based with icons or such, otherwise I'd need all these duplicate image frames with just slight differences. I'm also putting in allowance for controllers, but as of the moment, I would need a script to detect use of a controller... (One exists for VXAce, but it seems to... not work on Vista upwards.) ... and of course this is based on specific controller settings. RE: Maps and screenshots thread - Mel - 03-24-2016 Nothing special, but I just wanted to upload something. RE: Maps and screenshots thread - KasperKalamity - 03-26-2016 RE: Maps and screenshots thread - kyonides - 03-27-2016 So a dark knight wants to take over... the local park? Perhaps his goal is more realistic than conquering the world, I dunno... RE: Maps and screenshots thread - KasperKalamity - 03-27-2016 meh i can't really do faces right yet, so im procrastinating. these are just placeholders for now. i re did the swingsets and prefer these Edit: Would anybody be interested in buying my tileset once it's done? I've put an ungodly amount of time into it. Right now my master exterior tileset is 28 feet long. It's an exceptional project to be sure. |
