Well, still at it with Lycan. Yup yup yup. BUT, I am also at it with my Vehicle system. Imagine the possibilities.

If you can't.....

Hm... If I travel around here, I better bring a canteen. Sure, it's default RTP. But this is for a software demo.

I like the simplicity of it. It's a nice contrast to most bloated maps I've seen (and I'm guilty of making).

As a side note, the apparent stigma of using RTP tilesets is something that really grinds my gears about the rpgmaker community.

Stigma of the RTP... personally, I hate super-chibiness of the VX/Ace RTP. Yuck. Still, there's been a stigma for ANY RTP package. When RPGMaker 2000 came out, the Mack and Blue tilesets from Japan were branded the 'Alternate RTP' because everyone loved them so much.

Insofar as the map, one can always consider the notion that 'less is more', especially when you want to make something that is meant to be sparse. And obviously a desert environment screams sparse. I could have made it a larger map, but I said 'meh'.

That much is true, yes. I also dislike the look of VX/Ace RTP. Needless to say, I'm disappointed that MV followed that style.

As for the Mack and Blue Tileset, the version of RM2K I download already had all those tilesets available, as well as others ripped from various SNES games (Breath of Fire 2, Seiken Densetsu 3, Secret of Mana and Romancing Saga 3 to name a few).

MV went even more into the chibi style with the battlers, haha...
It made their character generator easier to use, I suppose, but come on!  Laughing

And that desert map... I was trying to figure out how I was gonna do mine, but I think that helped me a bit. Simplifying some of my areas should help it look nicer...  Blushing + Cheery
You always do great maps!  Sad

Let's revive this thread a little bit with a portal to another world.

Cheery This world sure has a good number of water-borne crystal growths.

You're seriously NOT sharing past-due yogurt with everyone, are you? Shocked

I kinda like the stark simplicity of the message system. And the mozaic floor tile pattern is nice. I never saw that pattern in an RMXP tileset.
