Here's a screenshot from me... regarding the current project I am doing, Roguehaven

i'll redraw the doors so they look right in comparison to the people. my nature tiles are starting to fill in. if i bang out a house a day, i should have those done in a jiff

Btw, very nice map Kasper, are going completely away from RTP with this project? It's cool that it still has that RTP feel with the completely original art. I like it!

I would try to modify the tree shadows so they appear to act as the height of the sun does for the buildings. maybe slightly to the right, a little showing of trunk.

RE: Maps and screenshots thread - KasperKalamity - 09-19-2013

i'm using the rtp as a guide so my tiles aren't totally whacked looking, and i do it right. i'm drawing over them in illustrator, changing them as i see fit, before depositing them onto photoshop for export. illustrator's workable area is smaller than the ultimate rtp tileset's height... RTP looks like it should, it just has no personality or character, it's too plain. doing it this way allows me to make the game more cartoonish, which allows me to still be a graphics snob while not coming off as immature or douchey. i'm taking the shadows by the buildings out all together since they look too disjointed. the grass tile itself took over an hour, and the big tree took almost 4 hours because of having to figure out how to make all the layers come together to resemble something that actually looked like what i was basing it off of.

Again, awesome work, can't wait to see the game.

City wall done. all the parts took about three and a half hours. 100 hours have easily gone into the inner and outer tilesets.

liking the shadow work on the tower battlements.

RE: Maps and screenshots thread - KasperKalamity - 09-26-2013

the shadows are all super basic. black squares at 25% opacity

your corners and the front row aren't aligned correctly, the lines are all wavy and look odd
