I have it, my laptop is brand new. I have Win 7 and all the latest updates.

i have windows 7 as well, so you need to uninstall the app and install .Net Framework 4.0 Client Profile and windows installer 3.1.
let me know when you get it working.

make sure that you're on an administrator account on your pc.
if that doesn't work then i'll have to run some tests and you get the new version 3 which is named CharaGen with stat gen and more advanced generators.

@renard: Did you try redownloading the file, maybe it's corrupted? Also, you may try running it in compatibility mode ( although I think this was dev'd on 7, so that shouldn't matter )
@wizoo: do you have crc/sha/md5 checksums for this, so that it will be easy to double check the file to make sure all is as it should before resorting to redownloading? ( any one of the 3 will work, crc is most common for windows apps, so if in doubt, go with that. )
