nostril hole hasn't been added yet Laughing

RE: Karina's Art dump - MetalRenard - 01-29-2011

It looks pratically the same...Very happy + Tongue sticking out Sorry. I still really like it though.
I think you need to give it a less rounded jaw to make it look meaner. Sharp edges will give it a mean look maybe... But I don't know how to draw.

RE: Karina's Art dump - MagitekElite - 01-29-2011

I only changed the right nostril :P I don't know what's wrong with it to fix it, so I'm a bit confused. Laughing + Tongue sticking out

@MetalRenard:
You mean like horns/spikes on his jawline?

RE: Karina's Art dump - MetalRenard - 01-29-2011

I mean something like this (P.S. I'm no artist, I'm just trying to explain what I mean haha)

I wish I knew how to draw!

RE: Karina's Art dump - MagitekElite - 01-30-2011

Ah, more "hard" looking, I see xD

Here is an UNCLEAN version of me trying to add a bit of this lizard to the image. I will clean up the lines later, but wanted to test it out xD

(Black is a background layer so I can see my lines xD)

RE: Karina's Art dump - computerwizoo7 - 01-30-2011

@MagitekElite:

i think what you want to do is find a few concept art(of dragons) done by other artists, get a collection of them and get a feel for what they depict a dragon to be.
try to duplicate them(its not cheating) and after your satisfied with ur duplicate. try to do an original and it will certainly show better results.

PS: if ur using a tablet, u might wanna turn on ur pressure sensors and modify ur settings to allow a smooth ending line.

RE: Karina's Art dump - MagitekElite - 01-30-2011

I'm using a Genius Tablet. I can't seem to find out where to edit or modify the settings... xD

The pen is probably alright, but the first image was a rough sketch and then I did my first outline using the pen tool in CS5. :P

I'll see what I can do with your suggests and work tediously! Promise I'll post again with an update! Going by the last sketch, what do I need to pay attention to most? Everything? Was the sketch completely off? Sweat

RE: Karina's Art dump - computerwizoo7 - 01-30-2011

ur last picture is a good start, drawing starts from a shape so if u got the shape right then you can always add detail later.
still the lines are very bad so ur gonna have to do it over, pay close attention to edges.
example:the hair around his neck, hair overlap each other and should have varying width and length of strands of hair.
also pay close attention to perspective, ur drawing in 3d(its actually 2d but the shade resembles 3d)

so a person's face should not look flat but with dimensions, to cut it short.

good luck

RE: Karina's Art dump - MagitekElite - 02-10-2011

Okay, I'll re-do the hair on the jaw (they were basic lines for horns though which I planned on building off of>.>)

What do you mean its in 3d and 2d? Sweat

With what I have now, I decided on just trying out different details. I will start this over again, but I'd like to get a little practice on my detail while I have a dummy to test it on xD
This is what I have so far. Following a basic design of a Desert Horned Lizard. :)

*cut for edit*

EDIT: Darker version. Way lighter now that I look at it. Here is a better version:
