That depends on the extent of your corruption and which files your games can't read. May the pantheon of RM Gods watch over you should you lose your progress.

Do you have a backup copy of your project's data on hand?

sure, i'll pray to fighter01, cleric04, and aquatic03...

i have an ollllld one from before this past demo. ive done so much since then... it's not as bad as losing the entire thing, but i have such a burning hatred for having to redo things. there's so much missing since i finished making and testing everything in the space of a month of 5hr days...

RE: What's up, RMers? - KasperKalamity - 05-06-2012

HERE'S HOW IT WAS FIXED!

1. make a new folder on the desktop.
2. start a new project in rmxp.
3. take EVERYTHING from the original folder, copy into the new project's folder.
4. overwrite everything in the new folder when it asks during the copy
5. ???
6. TEST PLAY WORKS! (also profit i guess)

i don't know why/how it works, i just know it worked for me, and i was able to test play my game again. it's going to take a little bit for the idea that i just saved my project to hit me, but i feel SO much better.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say rxproj got corrupted somehow. (Don't quote me on that.)

Edit: Converting VX windowskins over to XP just got better. The script uses the VX windowskin's text colors too.

i don't know what the hell was wrong with the file, but whatever i did worked.

RE: What's up, RMers? - PK8 - 05-06-2012

Just wrote a quick script snippet for changing BGM and BGS volume in frames based on someone's request.

Why do I keep writing these scripts?

Backed up and deleted some stuff off local drive, including one project I had been aimlessly messing around with. I really wish I had better focus. My VN-ish thing needs work, dammit.

Admittedly I like what I had done, but... spriting remains something I am too anxious to do, and remains a project killer. *sigh*

Cold, Dark Place (WIP)
Cold, Dark Place

This is essentially a dungeon theme played on electric guitar. While I'm happy with the background melody, the lead is essentially still being experimented with, that one was just hammered out real quick.

There are two other tunes that have spawned off this recording, hopefully I'll have more of them done tonight or tomorrow.

Yep Yep Yep. I got more hairstyles in the works for my ABS. It just takes time since there are 9 actions possible for a character (attack, duck, run...) so you each hairstyle has 144 frames. I just got ponystyles done for both male and female... and various colors too.

Meanwhile, I'm also giving the old crafting script by Prexus a massive overhaul, adding features like blunder results (aka your crafting failed), NPCs that can craft rather then you needing recipes, and an editable layout.

Working on porting Arevulopapo's Particle Engine to VX. Will work on an Ace version soon.

For this port, I added a shortcut and a way to prevent the game from breaking should the script add some particles onto an object that turns out to be a NilClass.

Edit: Added several shortcuts.
