Kain's Animated Battlers - Kain Nobel - 03-19-2012 Introduction Hello and welcome to my thread! During my vacation I had it planned that I would at least make an attempt to get back into building animated battlers, perhaps maybe finishing what I already had done. Well, I've just decided to scrap the old shit because I can't keep up on the same style, so now I'm starting a new series from scratch. Current Progress These are very rough draft 'skeleton' versions of sword wielding sprites. I will be doing various other weapon types and yadda yadda as time goes on, but here's what I've got for now. Actor Animations Project Goals I plan on having a diverse set of animation bases which I can use as a template for my game's battlers. Each set is going to be custom tailored around either a certain weapon and/or a certain fighting style. While most animations are going to have a standardized set of frames, some battlers will have specialized frame set (an example is a Reload frame-set for projectile weapons). Also, if at all possible, I want to make these look consistent with the templates I've made for my map characters. About : Weapon/Shield Combinations These battlers are being designed with visual equipment in mind. While this is going to make things graphically more spectacular, it is also going to make my job way more complex. For each weapon type, I'll most likely make it formatted for these common combinations @_@
These works are my creative properties and are posted strictly for demonstration and critique purposes and are not intended to be an immediate public resource. Only once the game I am working on is finished, I plan to properly package these materials and distribute them for public usage. RE: Kain's Animated Battlers - Kain Nobel - 03-21-2012 Ugh, I was gonna upload the new ones but ohsk is down and I cba to upload anywhere else D: lol Anyways, I started a new animated monster, its kind of like a cross between Diglette from Pokemon (I think that's his name o.o) and some furry cartoon guy from some random show I can't remember atm. I drew him at 3px just to get a feel for animating and because I can't be distracted by pixel placement lol. Once ohsk returns, I'll post him. Also, since a majority of the really freaking talented pixel artists are over at wayofthepixel, that is where I'm going to post most of my C&C material. Oh yeah, and this one is from awhile back... This is all still peewee stuff, I know, but I hope by the end of the year I'll be able to knock all types of animations out of the ball park! |
