NaGaDeMo - National Game Development Month - PK8 - 05-26-2012 Thought I'd bring you guys something fun to do for the month of June. It's something an RMer over at RM-Dubya discovered while surfing around on the net. If you're familiar with the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) events in November, then then you should probably be familiar where with this event's going. If you're not, then to quote the guy from RMW, "That's a month-long challenge to hit a certain word count and finish a rough draft of a novel for you to work with. The Prize? The work you completed in that 30 days and a warm and fuzzy feeling." Now there's a spin-off concept of it with NaGaDeMo, and it looks to be ran by a different group of people. Basically, starting June 1st, all the way to June 30th, you get to start your development on your new game. You then try to finish it within those 30 days. Pretty much plan out your stuff before you start eventing (building) things together in RPG Maker (your preferred game-making engine) on June 1st. The point of the event isn't to make something ambitious and elaborate, as it is to simply make something. If you'd like more information about it, visit this website: http://nagademo.com/ RE: NaGaDeMo - National Game Development Month - KasperKalamity - 05-26-2012 sounds fun! i did a contest like this on another board. i might end up using that project, and only work on it during nagademo each year, it's a nice distraction from the pressure of my main project. RE: NaGaDeMo - National Game Development Month - yamina-chan - 05-26-2012 Sounds like fun indeed =D If it had been any other month I would take part in it if this really get's going. |
