RE: The Lycan ABS - DerVVulfman - 03-31-2013

Actually, a two-fold system. Facing deals with anything in front... even if on your sides . In-Line only deals with a straight line. The new algorythim decides which to use based on whether the diagonal system switch. Not just for actors but for enemies as well.

Oh, had to lightly touch up the credits in the demo and add a new name to the list. Winking

My personal preference would be JUST the three tiles directly in front of actors/enemies, but I am more than capable of editing it myself.

I think I found a bug with attacking in 4-direction battle mode; I am now capable of hitting my cat friend when she is a tile behind me.

Well....

BUMP!
to Version 4.0

I won't bore you with details on the slight change that was added to the last upgrade. But the change was so easy that the it only took one line edit and one additional line of code to fix the "puddy-tat killin' bug". However, I added a new heading in the 'Feature Effects' section of the accompanying help file to describe its function and where any edit/change could be placed.

I've been playing with this system some more; the companion system is really charming! Reminds me of Azure Dreams.

Thankies!

One thing I neglected to put into the Help Manual: If you add _wrap to the end of your map name, the maps LOOP! Yep, you can make looping world maps with Lycan. It has been an integral part since version 1, and I hadn't written anything about that feature except the small bulleted list of features itself.

no screenies huh? HUH?

RE: The Lycan ABS - DerVVulfman - 05-04-2013

Well, it's still a map-based battle-system. If you take out the hud... custom graphics... you could make the most simplified zelda system with just your characters. Laughing OR... make your own custom hud (the hud system is configurable)... fully rendered kickin' graphics, and special effects and make...

"LINK vs DIABLO: Zelda in Hell"

 That title just came to me.

RE: The Lycan ABS - xnadvance - 05-04-2013

lol..im using mrmo's abs right now so i get it.

RE: The Lycan ABS - DerVVulfman - 05-04-2013

Be wary. If you're in the middle of a fight with MrMo's ABS and hit [SAVE]... When you continue your game, the enemy will not react. He'll effectively be a dummy enemy, a bug in his system I couldn't resolve and one of the reasons I made my own. One helluva cheat there, eh?

RE: The Lycan ABS - xnadvance - 05-04-2013

It's a different case for netplay since it saves server-sided, so dont have to worry about that one. :)
