Samven's Amazing Art Request Thread! - Samven - 03-12-2015
Hey there, handsome. I want to tell you a secret: Aeris is Darth Vader's father.
Seriously, though, last year I started an art challenge because I wanted to be good enough to do the art for my own games. Without meaning to brag, I think I've come quite a long way. Observe the differences between Day 1 and Day 300 if you don't believe me.
This is Sam's Amazing Challenge to Become Less Bad at Arts and Stuff, a daily challenge to draw something each day. What started as a bit of derping around on Facebook has turned into a huge project for me to become an actual artist and part of that learning process has involved taking people's art requests and, yes, this now includes the requests of the good people of Save-Point!
You can request anything for me to draw: to a quick doodle of a chibi to a sketch of the lovely Monica Bellucci to a tapestry of anime awesomeness. I try to work on a "first come, first serve" basis but larger drawings do get shoved to the back of the queue because they're so dang time-consuming. I'm happy to draw anything within reason (I'm not opposed to drawing anything a bit flirty but I reserve the right to say, "lolno" if you ask me to draw Sephiroth wielding his six-foot "weapon".)
So, come along! Browse Samven's artistic wares and ask him what you'd like to see him draw. And, if you're still not convinced, here are a few examples of what I can do!

okay, very well, you're on...
I need flags, or rather heraldry. I need heraldry and family crests for seven main kingdoms and a total 15 other factions.
While these flags will in turn be used in animated banners and twisted into resting flag shapes and bunting for my rendering projects, I kinda want the hearldry to still look as a medieval artist would create them.
Before I go into detail, I'd like to guage if you're really interested...
For instance. Merede centeres around the Raven, the Crow, Birds of Carrion (but not vulture, eww) and is usually an outstreteched crow vitruvian styled crest, on a two colored shield, dark grey on left, light grey to white on the right hand. Clutched in the talons or claws of the raven or crow are brambles, which then crawl up halfway on the shield's side.
Secondly, Sharistae's main symbol is that of a huge stone lighthouse, with a sea captain's wheel behind it, as large as the whitehouse. while bleached and desaturated, these both appear in contrast to a two tone sea of blue, representing where water meets sky about 1/3 of the way up the lighthouses height.
Finally, The Silvermen, a guild of paladial knights of the Empress of Sharistae bear their symbol as a statuesque woman, gilded in silver, with wings stretched upwards, flanked on both sides with white rays of light, referrencing Aaliana, the servant of the Creator, one of the Arvari agents of the Light. A Dark gray can be used as a background to contrast the rays of light.
Please let me know if you're interested in this project, and if so I can have dozens of these for you, with permanent VIP credits in my game, as well as 2% royalties of sales if my game becomes commercially viable.

If you think I'm up for it, then I most definitely am. I'm not an animator, so I don't know that I'll be able to do that part but I'm more than happy to do some flag designs for you and see what you think.
