Hi - Klink - 06-29-2022

Hey! Not much for me to say. I've just been using RPG Maker XP for a long time, and just happened to stumble upon this forum. These forums seem incredibly old and worn out, but I'll join either way.

*HOWUUU!!!*   (Translation from Lycan:  Hi back!)

Hey, don't be surprised if some new content shows up, including that for RPGMaker XP.

So, you're experienced?  What is your strongest talent, and is there anything in the works?

Old and worn out? ^^ Aww I think this old girl still has a few miles in her.
Welcome aboard!

Don't confuse "aged and wise, and better for her mistakes and boons" for "old and worn out"

Plus we have Discord.

Thanks! And ahah, seems like I was wrong about the forum being 'old and worn out'. It's awesome that its still alive and kickin', though.

To answer your question, I do think I'm somewhat experienced in eventing, though I'm primarily more skilled in the graphical art department. I've been using XP to make a zelda-like engine built upon the Blizz-ABS script, with a focus on keeping it close to games like Link's Awakening both functionally and aesthetically whilst also keeping it versatile and more unique. Though, I think I've probably spent far more time trying to make it aesthetically pleasing rather than making it actually functional ^~^

Well, don't forget to have a good story too. Systems are one thing, but a good story and immersion into the story is a main factor. Gotta have it so the player is actually interested and cares about them.

Yep, I'm a scripter. But that's a tool to give your game extra effects and features to aid in telling the story. I've seen games with RPGMaker 2000 that had good story content (and even 20+ hours gameplay). So be wary of the scriptaholic trap. Winking
