Server Updates - Kirito - 09-11-2024 So, the critical error with the OS update packages has been resolved. Apparently it screws up the bootloader, along with some other critical infrastructure, so had I installed it the server might have ended up in a non-bootable state. In any case, I'm tentatively planning on performing the updates this coming Saturday, September 14th, 2024 - provided there are no further gotchas in the update bug tracker. I expect about 1 hour of downtime while I do backups and basic maintenance, and then we should be back to business as usual. There are no updates pending for the forum software, so there shouldn't be any bugs for you all to track down as a result of this operation. RE: Server Updates - Kirito - 09-16-2024 Server upgrade completed. Only had one issue, the cloud configuration file kept getting reset with a generic one. This of course is problematic since it contains the servers network configuration. So while the server was running, and functioning fine, nobody could access it. Thankfully, I was able to disable cloud configuration and manually set it back up to the correct settings. As a bonus, to me at least, the server feels way more responsive with snappier load times.
