Haha, don't worry, I've played the crap out of that game before. I mean something that really gets down to the nitty-gritty of Godzilla's psyche. A kaiju struggling to come to terms with his own kaiju-ness.

I would like to see a space-sim like Microsoft Games Freelancer, with a complete offline mode but with an ever expansive universe where all things like bounties are created on the fly during game for unique measure, even stars and planets procedurally mapped on the fly. it would basically be the simple "fly this cargo to this planet, get this reward, dodge this clan, stay away from these guys, keep building a bigger ship bigger armor, and voila... Insterstellar superstar.

Because this thread is far, far too awesome to die. I'm wondering about a game where you only have about half an hour/an hour of real time to live. Whenever it runs out, time resets to the beginning. The aim of the game is to escape the infinite time loops... but, when you do, your avatar kicks the bucket.

Sounds interesting. It would be either cool or very frustrating if your health kind of deteriorated (limping, falling, etc) over time to add to the sense of desperation.
I think a game where you play as a misunderstood giant monster (Godzilla-esque) who basically starts off by doing normal activities on Earth (with environments rather small compared to your avatar) but then finds out about some realm/planet where his size isn't abnormal would be interesting. I just like the idea because the scale of 2D games always tends to be the same, it seems. It would be a difficult task for a spriter to scale everything down while still making it interesting, but I think it could make for a unique feel. |
