Nope, all the problems solved themselves as soon as I killed Schnee and his icy cronies.

Now I'm in the hotel at Benzol. I will continue tomorrow.

what are your battle stats (lower left on the menu) levels, and time? was the jungle too easy/hard? i was going to put an area boss there, but it wasn't important enough to do right now. there's a lot to do and see in Benzol. the hotel is purposely numbered wrong.

My Stats:

Battles: 98
No. Defeated: 126
No. Escapes: 6 (Mostly in Marshton due to Strayer's tendency to die every time a snowman chucks snow at him)

The jungle wasn't hard thanks to Strayer's spritz kick and Jayce's bananarang. I gotta wonder what's with the Adolocensaur's devour skill though. It seems to kill the caster with no reason at all.

Another thing I noticed is that Strayer's sprite seems to switch to the default male grappler on cutscenes.

the devour skill is intended to cannabalize another enemy, i have to fix it then if they end up killing themselves. Strayer started out as Grappler01. i thought i changed the sprites in the cutscenes, i'll have to go back and check it again.

I see, that makes sense. I guess the problem is that I always saw that skill being used when the dinosaur was the last enemy standing.

Devour was a pretty easy fix, AND I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO WRITE A CONVOLUTED SCRIPT! Laughing + Tongue sticking out Laughing + Tongue sticking out Laughing + Tongue sticking out Laughing + Tongue sticking out Laughing + Tongue sticking out

Sorry for the lack of replies. I was kinda busy with other things, including starting a new project.

Anyway, Benzol was easy to figure out. I just kind of wandered all over the town, searching for any houses I could break in. Basically my M.O in all RPGs. And the rest followed.

Some observations.

- Ahti is supposed to be a unwindable battle, yes, but to make it sure, you should make it immune to poison.
- The monsters at the beach and the cavern were surprisingly hard. Definitely a difficulty spike.
- Horseblob was a real lifesaver through all this sequence.
- The exit of the water cavern to the upper cavern teleports you into a wall.
- The water cavern is all messed up. You can walk through wall and everything.
- Do you fight the scorpion boss if Horseblob isn't in your party?
- I finally arrived to Green Oaks. Best looking town so far.
- Jayce's sister is such a charmer, yeah.

That's all so far. I'll continue playing later.

thanks for playing so far. ahti is still impossible to kill, even when poisoned. go ahead, i dare you.

the beach and cavern monsters were upped significantly because the world is a big place, and it always bothered me that the difficulty curves of most games are so consistent. it's for realism, since there's no guarantee on whether or not the next fight you have is going to be easier or harder.

you fight the scorpion without horseblob, but it's completely different, he's not an transdimensional criminal either. i was watching a lot of The Tick when i was doing that scene.

Edit: the battle theme from the Yoomanga Tree is Ytse Jam by Dream Theater. I used the live version.
