If that's in response to me somehow, then: no, it is not. No matter which half of my comment is adressed.
Because I was in no way thinking about that.
If you are talking about somehting else unrelated to my post, please do elaborate about what you were talking about instead =) "With all the bad things and horrible news and drama that you constantly hear everywhere" American Media is usually about bad shit happening, rare are the times when news is for good things.
This is usually because of both human's likings for tragedy and the paranoia found in American Culture.

This is usually because of both human's likings for tragedy and the paranoia found in American Culture. Okay, I stand by what I said in the previous post.
A) New worlsdwide tend to focus more on the bad then the good things. For various reasons. Diffrent things may be seen on diffrent levels of 'bad' but the ratio of good/bad is pretty much the same. - That said, diffrent types of news appreach things diffrent too.
B) I am rarly in contact with american media per se, both news and media in form of movies/games/shows/comics/whatever. Enough to see where you are coming from, though. And the liking for drama, as you said, is a thing of the human culture overall, as well as the paranoia.
C) I wasn't talking about any form of public media in the first place; it was on a more personal level.
I was thinking about people that I know and don't know, who have lost loved ones. Who suffer from illness, who have problems with no easy solution. And about other, more curel people who intentionally try to make htings worse. - That's what was on my mind for the 'bad things'. Fopr the positive ones, I was thinking about all the people who try to help. Be it through being a friend, by fighting against those problems and looking for a way to solve them. By thanking others. By making people smile. By going out of their way to do something that is simple, yet time consuming and probably boring for them but means the world to an other person. By caring.
And I thought about how something that started small with no intention to become anything can turn into something huge that affects a lot of people in diffrent ways and that in a way represents all the good things that have come from this.

Sometimes. Usually they're lucid dreams where I know I'm dreaming and I can't wake up.

Lucky you. I hope you don't ever have to see Glenn Beck's magical chalkboard or the comedic stylings of Rush Limbaugh. XD
A lot of people here watch BBC news or any other outside source if they want an honest unbiased opinion on something. American media is owned by American politics. Our news is no less propaganda brainwashing than a third world dictatorship. The only difference is that we have a lot of channels. XD

Short version: Someone please tell my family that I am FINE with getting nothing for my birthday or christmas if it's to difficult to get me anything, for heavens sake!
So not looking forward to my birthday this year, I just want that part of the day get over and done with, so that I'm not asked every two hours if I can't think of something else that I might want as a present.

This part I fully agree with.
In other news, I'm in a bit of a dilemma. A while ago I had purchased a hardware sampler for use in my music, only to receive a few disappointments:
1. The sound quality. It doesn't have the lofi quality I expected, even if I should've expected it because the "improvement" in sample interpolation was in effect as of a few years before this came out.
2. The storage medium options. Mine came with a Zip drive, which I really don't want to use because of the drive's relatively high chance of failure. Floppy disks are formatted to an unusual size for its type, so porting those to my computer via an external floppy drive is not an option. Also tried a CompactFlash card reader only for it to be incompatible, and I'm busy ordering a custom RS422-to-USB cable for the sampler.
Even if that last trial in point two works, honestly, I'm starting to think buying it was a mistake. The sampler doesn't even have any effects, unless you count a quirky detuning effect that the manufacturers call chorus. Besides, for the lofi sound I had hoped for, I've already pulled it off in software somewhat thanks not only to bitcrusher plugins, but also thanks to the Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V VST.

This was the first song I ever made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqNBKHLmAzk
I think I want to reuse it... but I forgot what the musical notes are.
