Wow Rusty! I'm amazed!
That really captures the Zeus model really well! I'm glad you finished the game. I agree about the mecha action, unfortunately I can't do much about it. I'm not the most talented scripter. Although, I want to make a mecha mini-game for part 2 and 3.
Thanks so much for that picture. I will add it to all my project posts as "fan-art" What did you make it with?

Downloading right now. =D
EDIT:
Okay, here goes, I didn't finish it, but so far:
Graphicks are probably the going thing for this game. Its very nicely done and has a style that blends well together with tilesets and characters.
Characters... some are alright, others are lacking, so far. I didn't get to play it long, but characters should have grabbed me by now. The story itself is outweighing the character quality at the moment.
Gameplay balance is the worst part of this game. It makes it hard to find enjoyable. Simply, it is too difficult, and I don't mean challenging, I mean absurdly difficult, and rather bland. The enemies are even nearly the same. Also for the story chunks, maybe spread it out a little more, because it feels as if it goes: huge chunk of story, gameplay a little, huuuuge chunk of story, gameplay a little. Maybe try to balance that out more?
But the graphicks and story overall are nice. I give majour props again for whoever made the graphicks. Speaking of that, some more animations, no matter how subtle, would be nice, because that'd just make them all the more awesome looking.

Thanks for downloading and playing Jophie!
Yes, I must admit that the gameplay is not the best part of Part 1. It is more about storyline and character development. I almost considered releasing this as an "episodic" game with no gameplay. I've learned quite a bit from part 1, got a lot of feedback on what was good and not good, then will transfer this to part 2 and 3.
Out of curiosity, how far did you get? I was told that character development was quite good in this game.

Not far to be honest (very hard battle system). But far enough that at least one character should have stood out to me. I get that the main character has a very soft heart towards people and that makes him do stubborn things, but that's almost all I know about him, because he rants on about it and only it for ....ever since I started playing. Characters should be multi-faceted as with real humans. This is starting to remind me of a Final Fantasy game as far as character dev goes (which is a very EXTREMELY bad thing)... where characters say/do repeated things over and over just in different manners/ways to pound into your head how they are. I'd like to see you take them up from Fail fantasy-style personalities to Lunar-styled where you know the characters slowly but something grabs you from the start, then you learn about them throughout multiple experiences until you have the whole. Hearing about some things all from the start over and over gets boring! makes me not want to look deeper into the character to analyze him/her.
I get that the characters are passionate about certain things, but the point of development is to 'develop' not just 'say how they are' from the very start. I think I fail at explaining things... x.x;

story is interesting so far. i liked how in the end you show a lil scene of what was going around the back of the story.

Thank you for your feedback!
Thanks on those 2 bugs, they will be noted. As for the storyline, I'm glad you liked it! I really think the next two will be even better.

New fanart!
This was done by Alystar on Deviantart. She is holding a charity for her friend so I decided to do the charitable thing and donate some money. Here's the result!

BUG REPORT!
That probably doesn't matter in reguards to the bug, but I got a NoMethodError for $game_party.(method having to do with equipping skill, I forgot the actual method name), line 242. Basically, as soon as I could do stuff again, I went into the menu and decided to look at party members' stats and equipment. Just for fun, I decided to unequip the spell that was on the main guy to see if I could put it on somebody else, but when I went to re-equip the error popped up.
BTW, this project looks promising and I'll most likely be playing it more as it progresses. One thing I'd advise though is revisiting your first chapter later on, and putting some extra stuff in so that the gameplay imediately after the intro sequence isn't as boring. I enjoyed walking through the base, and talking to your NPCs, but overall boring gameplay after an exciting intro like that is a turn off, there needs to be more filler stuff to do :P
Anyways, I'll probably play through the game from my last saved point later on, and give you a detailed review once I complete it or at least get further into the heart of the first chapter :)
