I'm all for survival of the fittest, but I actually would be on the losing side of that kind of world.
Also, without getting into the subject of religion, especially when I'm not religious: God (supposedly) gave us free will. To intervene with any of our fuck-ups implies there is a place where he draws the line. A universal morality. There is none. He leaves us to our own devices so we learn our lesson, realise what we are doing wrong. However when it comes to war, I don't think we ever learn. >:[
