Magin Series
#11
Plenty of updates for you guys with pictures at the end:
1) I have updated the World information above. The mythology for Magin has been swirling and growing in my head for quite some time now--if I were to write it all, it would close to equal Tolkien's Silmarillion in length--but I haven't had the time and brain power to write it down until recently. What you see below and in the first post is the super-condensed version; my blog features a more detailed version; and the game itself will contain even more details for people to find--some will be hidden but many will be placed in the main quest itself.
2) All three Corneley siblings are almost complete; Alicia needs a few touch ups to look more feminine (we're thinking mainly in the cheeks and adding some flair to her lackluster attire) and Russel just needs some coloring and a flourish to his hilt.
3) The sprite looks FANTASTIC! I'm so happy with the work Brent has been doing. Thank MetalRenard for having me talk to him!
4) Our current plan is for the Kickstarter project to launch on June 1. I can't think of a reason why that would be delayed but in a business revolving around artists and media--anything can happen! Our goal is to raise 10k by my birthday, July 2. If we reach that goal, it'll be the best birthday of my life! The sooner we have that money, the sooner we can put out demos and, ultimately, finish the game. Even if we don't reach our goal in that month, we will fund the project on our own--possibly launching another project a bit further down the line when we have more product to display--but it's likely to be upwards of 3 years before completion if we don't get the fundraising done.

World Origins/Mythology:
The First Monarchs say that watching the world’s birth was like watching a painting stretch across a canvas without painter or brush. They were born with but not of the world and, as such, were able to witness its birth... and wield gifts of great power. One of these represented the physical embodiment of a door which held close a portal to another world; his name was Coeus. When he died, that door opened and allowed free passage between both worlds.
While at first this free passage seemed beneficial to both worlds, the First Monarchs gradually realized it could lead to their world’s destruction. With great sadness, the Monarchs slowly barred passage to different types of people until only humans with open minds, untouched by cynicism and darkness, could pass between the worlds.
Fearing that the common folk of their world would turn against them for this limitation and weary of the responsibility, the First Monarchs cast aside their throne and disappeared into the mists of history. Some of their descendents know of their ancestry and bear it with pride... but most descendents were left in the dark of even their parents’ parts in the world’s history.
