XD There actually is a word for reptile people, actually, and you were at least close in spelling.
So, Python Blue, if you like reptiles better than mammals, would that make you a "scaley"? lol, sorry. But gosh, reptile people can be so cool, but outside of the Ninja Turtles, they are almost ALWAYS evil! And in the worst ways! It's very frustrating, people act like lizards and snakes are like the evilest things around. That's one thing I liked about Kung Fu Panda, actually...Viper (I thought her name was just Snake, but it's Viper apparently) was like, supposed to be a quiet, "pretty" character, she's like, probably the nicest character in the movie I think. Really different from the usual stereotype of "snakes are evil, deceptive, and sadistic!"
Hmm...speaking of negative stereotypes...that's what the word "furry" usually entails. (oh, pun soooo intended)
Even in TMNT, though; there seems to be confusion among each generation of series as to whether Leatherhead, who's a gator, is evil.
Don't forget Dreamworks' other recent success: How to Train Your Dragon. ;)
As for the main topic, you certainly may be right that I'm relying on a negative stereotype. Fact remains that it's a popular stereotype, though. :P
