I've been using Windows 8/8.1 for quite a while now, and so far it hasn't been too much of a problem for me.
The only thing I've found annoying is sometimes dragging the screen when trying to select multiple things, or accidentally calling up the bar on the side.
You should consider building your own PC, Dervy-kun. Much better quality stuff for less price, but the building itself might be the only problem.
Anyway, I am about to begin the process of setting up RMXP on the new laptop. Once I do that, I can work on my game in my spare time! YES, I'M GONNA WORK ON MY GAME!
