Zero Hedge beat me to the punch.
I believe HeyJackass! paints a more accurate picture of the reality of life in Chicago. Of course, when you live in a libtard hell hole, a shooting down the block becomes just another case of the Mondays; I'd call it the new normal but I'm assuming it's always been normal since the Valentine's Day massacre back in 1929.
Overall, you have to give government legislators and law enforcement some credit as gun crime has been down, nationally, since the 80's and 90's. Also, give people credit for not shooting each other as much as they used to.
But what the hell has gone wrong in 2016? It's not just Chicago, nationally things are getting much worse and the year hasn't even finished yet. People are getting more desperate. Locally, I've seen more businesses closed and more people without jobs. Where one business closes, another title loans or check cashing place opens up. Alternatively, I see lots of "Space Available" signs, and they just sit. When I visited Las Vegas last week, once you leave the strip, there are so many houses that are abandoned, fenced in and boarded up.
How is that economic recovery going? Even if I was a millionaire living in the city, doing well for myself, I'd still be able to see many places are closing and the homeless population is growing. Lots of new homeless people.
I had a liberal friend from Chicago tell me that her city isn't as bad as media makes it out to be; that it is all a myth. I'm not sure if she honest-to-god believes that line of BS but numbers tell a tragic story. She did go on to say that Englewood takes the most credit and makes the rest of the city look bad.
Okay, she has a point. Sort of. She must live in one of the blue or orange zones. If this info-graphic is to be believed, there doesn't appear to be many police-involved shootings except for Garfield Park.
There does appear to be many justice involved youths with nothing much to do though.
Ah, a voice of reason!
Okay, so maybe Chicago wasn't the murder capital of the United States last year; that credit goes to East St. Louis. As in, East St. Louis, Illinois. As for St. Louis, Missouri; they placed 3rd highest US murder rate. I wonder what the numbers will reflect at the end of this year.
What a tragic headline : Fatal shooting of boy, 15, closes deadliest May in Chicago in 21 years.
It's okay Obama, keep stuttering about Donald Trump's tweets. Nobody knows what the hell to do about the meltdowns of Chicago, Ferguson, Baltimore, etc. The water crisis in Flint? Kind of hard to walk that pony back into the stable...
Those people are going to have to relocate, that town will have to be leveled to the ground and rebuilt from new. Good luck replacing all that lead plumbing.
