Just a little update on my progress. I have been working on the scenes following the end of the demo as well as tinkering with the gameplay mechanics. Right now I am toying with the idea of making the defend command recover HP/MP. Its not by much and there is only a chance that it will work but it adds a nice dynamic and makes the defend command a much more tactical option. Perhaps there will be a purple materia later in the game that enhances the chance of the recovery working, as well as the amount that will be recovered.
Limit break progression has been reduced greatly making battles feel more tactical and less dependent on luck.
Here is a screenshot of a scene I just finished, its your introduction to the main female character in the game and perhaps Noas love interest later on.
Does anyone have any ideas for a name for her? Right now she has the working title of Saya but its far to generic and does not really fit. Final Fantasy names often have other meanings such as aeris or arith being the modification of a star sign name and Terra being latin for earth. Or was that greek for earth?
Anyways if anyone has any ideas let me know.
