When the phone call is a 1-800 number using a synthesized female voice to tell you that your 'Windows will be locked as your activation is expired', you know this scammer needs to be taken down.
Of course, I performed a few checks, scanning reverse phone-number websites which (yep) said it was repeatedly reported as a Scam number. But then I decided.... to communicate with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) itself. You got it. I reported the phone number to the Feds. Ya know you can do that online, right? If not... https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#&panel1-1
Yeah, fed up with Scammers and those stealing the hard earned money of others.
Eerily, I had an encounter with scammers as well. One guy called me, telling my sister has had a traffic accident and need money to settle it down to avoid going to court over it. I cut it down right here as my sister works relatively close to where we live and doesn't need to drive or even take a bus to her workplace.
The nerve of some people, I tell ya.
