"Heroes in Harm's Way" premiered on China's flagship TV channel, CCTV-1, on 17 September. It aired during primetime, and promised to be the first TV drama "based on real life stories" about front-line workers in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, the site of the first coronavirus outbreak.
The title of the show implied that it was going to highlight the major contributions women had made in China's epidemic fight. Women account for the majority of China's front-line workers.

Viewers' opinions show this drama is screwed since they downplayed women's role in attending the population.

North Korea killed and burned South Korean official

A South Korean official has been shot dead and burned by North Korean troops, said the South's defence ministry which condemned the "brutal act".
Seoul said the man had disappeared from a patrol boat near the border and was later found in the North's waters.
North Korean soldiers shot him, then poured oil over his body and set it alight, the ministry said. It had come to this conclusion based on its analysis of "diverse intelligence".

What a terrible way to die indeed!

Republicans release report on Joe Biden's son

The 87-page report called the younger Biden's role at a company suspected of corruption "awkward" and "problematic" at a time when the US was trying to help clean up corruption in Ukraine.
However, the report found little additional information that had not already been publicly revealed in news reports and testimony to the impeachment committee.
Mr Trump has claimed that Mr Biden meddled in Ukraine to help his son's business interests, but lawmakers found no evidence of this.

So is BBC now saying that Joe Biden's threat to an Ukrainian district attorney that was investigating his son was legal? So why don't people rely on such tactics to prevent authorities from ever prosecuting them?

Westpac bank to pay record Australian fine over laundering breaches

Australia's Westpac bank has negotiated to pay a record A$1.3bn (£0.7bn; $0.9bn) fine for the nation's biggest breach of money laundering laws.
Last year, Australia's financial crime watchdog said the bank had failed to adequately report over 19 million international transactions.
Some payments were potentially linked to child exploitation, officials said.

Calling this a huge scandal would be a real understatement. Especially if kids were used as a way to make some quick money.

Wells Fargo's Charles Scharf apologises over race comments

This hasn't been a good week for banks for sure.  

Wells Fargo's own record on race has also been in the spotlight, as the firm has paid millions to settle investigations into discriminatory lending and hiring.
In June, the bank announced diversity initiatives, following global protests over police brutality and racism.
In the memo announcing the plans, which was reported by Reuters, Mr Scharf said: "While it might sound like an excuse, the unfortunate reality is that there is a very limited pool of black talent to recruit from."

I better don't ask that guy what he thinks about Latinos or Asians.
On the other hand, shouldn't people care a bit more about improving the education system and the access to universities for the average joe instead of merely complaining about his stupid comments. I mean, what if it's true they noticed how few black people pick the careers the banks are "monitoring"? Why don't they think they should come up with ways to catch those black students' eyes with some incentives? Or couldn't they encourage them by letting them partake in some seminars on banking stuff?
